Army vows all-out support to govt for economic stability

. .
I am willing to contribute to the effort to rebuild Pakistan's economy. Already, my proposal for barter trade with neighbouring countries has been accepted by the government.

There's a limit to regional barter trading as somebody can't exchange much besides food and commodities.

This is no long-term solution to save on dollar reserves, as structural reforms are still needed.

.
They’re projecting a growth rate of 10% per annum to reach a GDP of $1 trillion by 2035.

For now the economy is shrinking. It went down from a peak of $383 billion to $325 billion because of the fall in the rupee. Factories are shutting down and jobs are being lost.

As the rupee goes down, the GDP in dollars will be shrinking further.

.
They had plenty of US support not mentions intel ..

Both cannot be compared.

However point taken Indian army is more professional in a sense it does not go and interfere in day to business of civil gov
The support includes a few IFV, tanks, artillery guns, ammunition, HIMARS, many ATGM, drones, a few standoff weaponry. It's not enough to build a full fledged military like they did with Pakistan, which had more armor, artillery, full air force with mostly American aircraft, along with a full navy with submarines. Is Ukraine better armed than Pakistan, definitely not!

Despite having all of this military support for decades, the results are lackluster. I believe the only reason why Pakistan survived against Indians is because the duffers in the establishment were lucky the Indians too were incompetent.

The key difference is logistics. Ukraine has a continuous supply of ammunition to keep the war machine running as in Pakistan's case sanctions stopped the war machine from running full steam.

Pakistan has always been better off compared to Ukraine when it comes to sustaining a protracted conflict. It produces a lot of weapons and ammunition locally to sustain the logistical requirements. Also Ukraine's supply is not continuous. There is delay. You've noticed less news of ATGM? It's because US production wasn't enough to sustain this and are ramping up factories. Lots of foot dragging from EU countries. Bits here and there coming.

As of now PAF has 100+ BVR capable aircraft compared to Ukraine's nonexistent airforce. Without air force, their offensive suffered heavy losses in infantry and equipment because of enemy helicopters. Pakistan also has submarines, indigenous cruise & ballistic missiles. Ukranian military would salivate at the possibility of having the hardware Pakistan has. Seeing their ingenuity, innovation like using drone guided artillery strikes, superior tactics, incredible fighting capability, it's clear to me that given the weapons Pakistan has, they would steamroll Indians.

. .
Lets hope the government also vows all out support to Army for helping it in fighting foreign aggression.

Regards

You know... when I see Ukranian military, smaller than PA and woefully underarmed and lacking an air force, managing to repulse and even defeat the Russians who are more powerful than the Indians, I wonder if Pakistan could have retake Kashmir had the Pakistan Army been like UkAF and only focused on its job instead of focusing on real estate, politics, businesses, economics.

@MastanKhan

Beating a country 7x larger than you is not easy

We will ignore the fact the other side has to play defense

Not especially when you are collectively incompetent

Mainly bcos of the airforce …

PAF unlike the Pak army is highly competent, todate I have even heard of a negative comment from any defense commentator either western or Indian.

The PAF may be capable and may punch above its size. But it is incapable of delivering knock out blows against India

  • ‘Economic Revival Plan’ unveiled to deal with economic challenges.
  • Economy being steered towards growth with “bold decisions”: PM.
  • Establishment of SIFC aims to act as one window for investors.
ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir has assured the Pakistan Army’s all-out support to complement the government’s efforts to deal with the economic challenges facing the country.

The army chief made these remarks during a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The huddle unveiled an elaborated ‘Economic Revival Plan’ in the wake of economic hardships being confronted by the country, an official statement issued by the PM Office said.

The COAS, while speaking on the occasion, assured the army’s all-out support to complement the government’s efforts for Economic Revival Plan, considered fundamental to the socio-economic prosperity of Pakistanis and reclaiming the country’s rightful stature among the comity of nations, the communique quoted the army chief as saying.

PM Shehbaz recalled that his government inherited an economy which was on the brink of collapse. With bold and difficult decisions, it is now being steered towards growth and development, he said.

“There are, however, massive challenges ahead. Export-oriented FDIs hold the key to economic revival. The government has, therefore decided to adopt a holistic/whole-of-government approach which fosters partnerships within the federal and provincial governments for effective implementation and execution,” the premier was quoted as saying in the meeting.

The investors would be given primacy and fast-track approvals, through a well-coordinated approach, he added.

The premier also observed that the expected investments would create jobs and livelihoods for the youth and women. "The focus should be on empowering young and females to realise their full potential."

He added: “Let us resolve to work together, leave no stone unturned and be single-minded in our focus and direction.”

We can transform the destiny of Pakistan and its people. It would, however, not happen without hard work and staying the course on the path of progress and development, he added.

“Pakistan and Pakistanis deserve nothing less from those who have been bestowed the responsibility to administer the country by Almighty Allah and the people of Pakistan,” PM Shehbaz said.

The plan envisages capitalising Pakistan’s untapped potential in key sectors of defence production, agricultural/livestock, minerals/mining, IT and energy, through indigenous development as well as investments from friendly countries.

To fast-track the development of projects, the establishment of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has been undertaken to act as a ‘Single Window’ interface for the potential investors as well as to adopt a unified approach, according to the official statement.

The setup will shorten hitherto for cumbersome and lengthy business processes through a cooperative and collaborative ‘whole of the government approach’ with the representation of all stakeholders.

It is aimed at creating horizontal-vertical synergy between federation and provinces; facilitating timely decision-making; avoiding duplication of effort; and ensuring swift project implementation.

The high-ranking participation from federal and provincial governments clearly manifests the national resolve to turn around the economy despite all odds.

It gives me enormous pleasure to these rats beg for a mere billion dollars and getting rejected in every nook and corner. LOL at all other jibberish wishful thinking. Pakistan is finished economically.

For over seven decades, both the military generals and politicians have been involved in the plundering of this nation, and it is individuals like @FOOLS_NIGHTMARE who have been cheering them on. While it is expected that politicians are power-hungry and often corrupt, the issue arises when people actively support and applaud them. These individuals and their mindset have caused significant harm to all of us. Whether they are performing their duties or have been hired to spread misinformation, their knowledge and awareness should prevent them from blindly praising these false idols. They can express their opinions, but it is these morally bankrupt individuals who pose the real problem. The fact that the first verse began with the word "Iqra" (meaning "Read") holds significance for a reason.

Why should Army Chief talk about economics? Understood that it might have been a talking point along with many others. But why make it a highlight.

Highlight of such a meeting should be security and security only. But it is not.

That is the problem with our neighbour. And a major one.
