do you think army should come into politics???explain your answer if you can??

Army's work is just the defence of country and ensuring no internal or external conflicts related to defence damage the ecnomony or country.

Entering into politics would weaken the army and divert it's role.

However, in the current situation, nation-building activities are encouraged.

what if internal threat is coming form internal politicians ? What army should do in such scenario when politicians of a country make bad decisions for country and its peoples?

Its always politicians who start conflicts and its always soldiers who die in wars. The big wigs who decide to start wars are always at a safe distance from the front lines

If the Q at post No 1 relates to the Pak army - no comments because Pak army is in a different league as compared to armies of rest of the world and it has a nation at its beck & call.

If it relates to armies in general - No.

Every orgnisation has a defined task in a nation. Just because one is physically stronger by virtue of the powers vested in it by the nation it does not mean it should usurp the powers of the other arms.

Just because one has a pair of dextrous hands , they should not attempt to do the work of the feet or other limbs.

they are already in politics watch asghar khan case

That is why ISI should be involved in politics it is there job to ensure the survival of the nation from both external AND internal threats. On the other hand army has always been used for external threats so that is the difference between intelligence and armed forces.

@OP - The army is involved in politics don't assume they aren't just because you do not see them. :azn:

The Army, be it in Pakistan or elsewhere has always an important role and a saying on the major geo-politics that affect a Nation, one can see it in east and west alike.

It's in the best interest of a army to do what it is supposed to do that is to defend a country and not run it. If the political system in a country has failed to do its job, the solution is not the army for sure.

Army should never take part in politics. Haven't we learned our lesson already. We have tried the Army several times in the past, and look where we are now

We are now where we are, because of civilian government. What Zardari has done in the past few years can in no way be blamed upon the army. I suggest you read up on our history a bit more.

Answer me this; Who issued the National Reconciliation Ordinance which allowed politicians like Zardari to get in power.
here is the answer National Reconciliation Ordinance - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Secondly, Army did nothing about feudal system (the biggest hindrance to progress) in Pakistan whenever they were in power

If Pak army entered politics, they would win elections for the next hundred years.

Absolutely wrong…..they needs civilians misrule everytime and they make sure its occurrence everytime as well. They in place civilians as soon as going get tough, rule proxy in that period too, puts all blames on their shoulders, dumb them at the right time and come again with another resounding mandate.

It’s a same story be it was Ayub, Zia or Musharraf, just tells me, If they are so much loved why don’t they amends the constitution in itself, resting supremacy to GHQ:azn:

Threat from politicians is different than politics. In Pakistan, with current situation, I would say yes. But, this is not work of army, this is the work of ACU, the Anti-Corruption-Unit (Most corrupt institution of Pakistan) and the Supreme Court who has the right to question and investigate any political leader who acts as a threat to country in any way, be working against her rather than in her favour.

With the Anti-Corruption cleansed, there would hardly be any need of powers stronger than politicians/government to take action. Anti-Narcotics however should have right to investigate/arrest/spy anyone, be the prime minister's son of prime minister himself. Most of the drugs come from the parliament, be Pakistan, India or any other country.
