You seems to have sources everywhere.
The most distressing part of this saga, is the apparent use of a serving soldier as a domestic servant, it is understandable in that situation, his honor compromised he took his own life.
If you are talking about batman and are re-naming or calling him as domestic servant, then you probably have served in the Army of Timbuktu. The institution of batman is much more than the slur you use. Soldiers do commit suicides for a variety of reasons - they are offcourse human beings.
An act of suicide or for that matter any act which spreads disquiet amongst soldiers has to be dealt with appropriately and quickly. However, a mutinous act for whatever the cause may be, has to be dealt with swiftly and severely and let it be in a colonial way, whatever that is.
A mutiny is a mutiny is a mutiny wherever and whichever army it takes place in - period.
No - a Jawaan being used as a servant by some officer's wife is not the same and you know it.
No I don't know it. It is you who are giving it a different rung. If you think that a batman in an officer's house, may he be Indian Army officer, is a servant - he is not. Please stop turning this into a circus.
He was not a batman, I repeat he was not a batman - but was being made to domestic chores by an officers wife.
officers treat jawans like dirt. Now a days jawans are more educated, and they wont tolerate humiliation easily.
Such poor treatment of any Jawan, literate or illiterate is an un-officer like attribute. Any officer found to be denigrating a soldier should be treated sternly and this practice should never be acceptable at any level.
