Btw, a military friend of my dad told him that Officers are great people up to the rank of Captain. Then, it's downhill. I thought he was joking, but maybe not?

You got that right my father never wants him to promote about captain especially after 1971 war but due to his seniority he was promoted to major.

I would not be surprised if the majors arrested were working in concert with one or more officers at the major general level.

ISLAMABAD: The Interior Ministry on Tuesday denied media reports, which quoted its minister, Rehman Malik, as reporting the arrest of some military officers for collaborating with terrorists.

The ministry said in a clarification that Interior Minister Rehman Malik had issued no statement on any forum about the arrest of some majors for collaboration with terrorists, and reports in this respect were untrue. It said during the last couple of months, Islamabad police had arrested 36 ‘notorious’ terrorists including potential suicide bombers, their handlers, facilitators and masterminds.

“None of the arrested persons is a serving army officer or has links with intelligence agencies,” it said. The ministry said a couple of months ago, Islamabad police had arrested two retired majors for alleged involvement in murder and kidnapping.

Religion has always priority,The root cause of 1857 mutiny was also religious issue.

PA should involve mufti azam to clarify the doubts of soldiers about our govrnment involement in support of US forces in Afghanistan.

GOP should only focus on terrorism in our soil .Our soldiers are patriotic but GOP some times take wrong decisions, which may cause mutiny in PA.

What I suggest in the recruitment process of offices in army “is to keep eye on their background”.

Dont worry they already do it.

Office should be selected with the one who’s father or at least two of his close relative in army or in any government job.

So you want to suggest that there should be favoritism. Well already people are not convinced that selection in the military are made on merit and you still want to suggest this.

BTW, how would this help in stopping somebody from sympathizig with the bad guys?

I am saying this because I have seen people with close minds.

Yes i have seen them too, but they dont necessarily make it into the military.

I know a guy who wants to join army after completing his MBBS. But he said what ever army done in past or future is wrong but he is still wants to join army .

Well dont worry, if that is the case, he'll not make it.

There is an other guy I know he is almost completing his 16 years of education by still his mind is like an uneducated ones. He do n t want her daughter to study in school .when I told him that you know in Islam education is necessary for both male and female his reply was so what. There I realize that education is not every thing to open a person mind their family background also count.

You are right, we have quite a large number of people in Pakistan who have the same mentality but that wouldnt help them at all.

Another friend of mind thinks what the government is doing is wrong and he wants to change it by going into the police.

BTW, if he wants to change something, he must change himself first and his family. That's the least he can do.

When I analyses these guys I came to realize that non of their family members are link with any government activities they family are in some kind of family business. So they think that they are right always no matter what and the GOP is wrong and they are the one on the right path to make it right by any means.

i call this sheer ignorance and nothing else, and until they change this they are not making it up to the executive branches and jobs, so chill.

Or it might be that the ministry spokesperson is being encouraged to refute the Minister's comments to help the military avoid washing its dirty laundry in public.

those of us who have seen how army works know the strict eye of FS section on serving soldiers

It may be some retired officer who was arrested
because during afghan jehad and after that intelligence had links with taliban which were cut after 911

Airforce officer had told me that in investigation they found ground staff(Airforce) of control tower was involved in air crash of Air Chief Mushaf Ali Meer who was Shia.

And BTW, FYKI, the intelligence agencies doesnt exactly be grouped under the word of military. If the PAF can openly bring out the news regarding 50 plus culprits so can the other branches. And no one knows it better than the int agencies that once a news has leaked, denying or refuting it will only create more problems and complications, they are not that naive. If they wanted to stop the news from getting aired it would have been done before it actually got leaked, not now when it is being discussed at PDF.

Every religion or sect has freedom to practice their faith but i think sunni and shia islam should not fight with each other , better they should fight against terrorism and supporter of terrorism
