MULTAN - In the follow up of instructions of Government of Pakistan and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Multan Corps has ushered in a well-conceived and practical plan for the rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of FATA.

In this connection a get together of notables was arranged at Multan Garrison Mess (MGM). A significant number of notables of Multan city attended the gathering. The participants were shown a documentary showing miseries of the IDPs and various tangible steps taken by Pak Army for their rehabilitation.

Major General Sadiq Ali, General Officer Commanding Multan Garrison, apprised the participants at length about the plights of IDPs and likely problems if appropriate measures are not taken to address this human catastrophe. He expressed his gratitude for their generous support and contribution during Earthquake during of 2005, Sawat Operation and unprecedented flood of 2010. The General Officer lauded the performance of the donors and philanthropists who played a vital role with Pakistan Army for bringing smiles back on gloomy faces.
Major General Sadiq, General Officer Commanding Multan Garrison said, that Pakistan is again facing a human disaster in FATA area where thousands of FATA residents have been rendered homeless as a result of Army operation against the terrorists. “These people have cooperated with the country and Pak Army and vacated their homes voluntarily to stem out the menace of terrorism from the area”, the General added. He expressed the hope that people would leave no stone unturned in the state’s efforts for rehabilitation of their bereived brethren Muslims.

The participants appreciated the role of Pak Army for undertaking such a noble cause and assured their full support. The response from the participants was extremely positive and they generously donated for the cause.
