Armed Men Attempt to Rob McDonald’s Full of Special Forces Soldiers, Fail Spectacularly

I guess you have never been to France then??

Mecca in France is a lot different than any Meccas in the US or Australia, plus, comparing what you ate in the Military, Mecca's burger is a god send.
Just three times in past two years and a stayed upto one semester 4 years ago at Ecole Polytechnique, Paris. Never visited a McDonald once :) ...I liked the ducks in the South though

@war&peace please accept my apologies for the low grade post I had made earlier. Uncalled for and uncharacteristic, it was unnecessarily mean. Have deleted the same.

Thanks

This is so strange...I found the French to be the best people in Europe to get along though I think with recent terrorist attack a lot has changed. I worked for a short while at Onera ... was kind of busy time but still managed to have some fun ...I liked Toulouse though were my friend was doing post doc in non-linear optics.

Probably because I don't speak French well, I had lived in London, Belgium, France, Sweden and Netherland, France is the only country you probably cannot speak anything other than French. Unlike Belgium, it's more like Canada.

Wow you have been to many countries. I have been to all of them but stayed only in Cambridge, Stockholm, Paris and Zurich more than a month...rest i just visited and stayed mostly less than a week. Bruges is a nice place. I was in Paris on a student exchange program and I luckily found very welcoming classmates..I stayed with them, met their families...though I didn't know any French but I showed a lot of genuine respect for their culture and history :)
Canadian French people actually do not like the French :)

Oh well........I sort of had to. Most of the time I spend in Europe is for work, first I worked as a contractor with DCATS and they have a joint project with MOD in England, plus I need to stay in UK for one year to register my British Citizenship, Then I sort of contracted to EU Military Command and conduct some study on interoperability between NATO and EU command. Then I was staying in Brussel for 6 months, and finally bring me to Sainte-Menehould for another 8 months.

Then I married to a Swede and I stayed in Malmo for 2 whole years with her and now I moved to Australia......

I guess workmate is a bit colder than classmate, I mean back when I was an undergrad, I hang out with my dorm-mate and classmate all the time, but then you got work, people from work usually, well, just work, and most of them have family and stuff to take care of, you don't hang out with your workmate that much. Then it gone worse after you got married, That's the end of your social life.....

Oh well, they could have been American tourists in France!

That kinda makes you think this happened in France. What ya think?

May be but I got confused when it read USD 2300 dollar as i use to think and experienced too that they used Euros there. and also the robber in the first pic looked like an American :D

Since when did the French become such an avid fans of McDonald?

Special Forces Unit Stops Would-Be Hamburglars From Robbing a French McDonald’s

In a twist of events straight out of a McDonald’s campaign, two men who attempted to rob a McDonald’s in Eastern France were foiled by a special forces unit.

PARIS, FRANCE - FEBRUARY 22: The largest McDonald's in the world reopens on the Champs-Elysees following extensive refurbishment.

According to the Connexion, the armed robbers (or hamburglars, if you will) were apprehended by the Groupe d’intervention de la Gendarmerie nationale, a unit similar to the U.S. Navy SEALs, who happened to be eating lunch during the robbery.

The unit waited until the robbery was finished, then confronted the robbers outside, opening fire when the men refused to surrender.

One of the thieves was shot in the stomach, while the other was seriously injured when he fell down the stairs during the pursuit. The pair will face charges of armed robbery and commission of violence.

Student exchange programs is all about exposure and fun though of course one has to study but learning the language, staying with students in host country, going to parties and learning from each other is all included. I had my limits since I don't drink but they respected that fact however some bigots are always around but with support from most my classmates, they never got a chance. I have been to Malmo on my way from Copenhagen on a bicycle trip via Öresund bridge then stayed in Lund at student apartments, then Jönköping, some times we hitchhiked and mostly stayed at student homes...so very cheap but normally we got mattresses to sleep on and sometimes even had to share the mattress and then next day bike 50-70 km...it was a tough routine but filled fun and exploration...I really want to get a long vacation of three months and repeat that :)

. . . .
The real crime here is: What is France's finest warriors doing in a McDonald's ?

Sacre Bleu...!!! Merde...!!!
