Argentines are following the recent development between UK and US. U.S Govt. was not too happy about Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi release. The release of the torture documents didn't help the relation either.
Diplomatically speaking it was a good time for Argentina to make a move.
This does put us in a little awkward position. Not supporting Argentina allows Chavez to try to drive a wedge between US and OAS. OTOH UK is the key ally.
I do think the issue is still far away from any military confrontation.

Arentina has no strong military !!! it will be problematic their navy is also weak so that is why they will have difficult time vs British ..
