I look very much forward to the day that the cradle of civilization (Arab world), a region that once dominated the world of science for millennia (as recently as during the Islamic Golden Age), will one day, not too far away from now, reclaim some of its past glory and buy and build Arab military hardware produced domestically.

I also welcome, with great pleasure, the fact that numerous Arab countries, KSA included, have woken up from the slumber and will be able to offer Oman and any other Arab country similar weapons not too far from now.

I apologize to any Omani brother or sister reading this post, I know that you are making strides in the right direction but I really hope that they will increase their investment in their own industry, hopefully in joint projects with their brothers and sisters in the GCC and other Arab countries.

It's just a composite monohull speedboat with some patrol and intervention equipment. It's not rocket science.

Why are you trolling the title?

@waz

You don't say? My post was a general statement regarding import of foreign military hardware among Arab states.

What part of my post is trolling in your universe and what would be my purpose of "trolling" on the Arab section?

What a strange comment from our Albanian guest.

Topic: ARES Shipyard delivered the first ARES 85 HERCULES Boat to Oman.

Purpose: The coast guard boats produced by the ARES shipyard began to provide significant commercial success in the Gulf region. The total number of platforms sold has exceeded 30. And because of this ARES shipyard decided to invest in Qatar. A new shipyard installation will take place soon. Besides the boat delivered to Oman today, this topic was opened to share such news.

But ,someone who has not assimilated the forum culture comes and trolls the topic with off-topical content.
You have to do better than that. You can share technical information on the subject. You can evaluate the technical competence of the boats within the scope of duty of Oman coast guard.

If you do not have the technical competence to do these, do not engage the forum with your delusions.

@waz , pls help me this guy forgot to take his pills, again.

I think you need to seek some kind of help yourself, speaking about medication, and I did not break any forum rules and this is the Arab section of the forum. It is within the right of every Arab member to comment on internal Arab affairs without being lectured by foreigners like you on what to write.

Thank you very much.

It is a fast patrol that will help Oman to polices its coast line. A win-win situation for both Turkey and Oman!

I'm happy to see two fellow Muslim nations doing business amongst themselves.

Brother @dBSPL, do we know the total cost of the 14 patrol boats? Thanks.

Oman takes delivery of its 2nd and 3rd ARES boats. ARES 85 HERCULES Patrol Boats are reliable platforms that have proven themselves in its class , which will be used in the Gulf for the prevention of arms and drug trafficking, illegal immigration activities and protection of critical coastal facilities.

oman was a strong maritime power and a sea fairing nation
there wooden boats were famous all over the place

It seems Oman is following the same course with Qatar and they placed order for Turkish patrol boats. Turkey is a generous state when the matter became our brothers. Turkey shared naval composite hull production technology for Malaysia. At present, Turkey is delivering the production rights of Milgem+VLS (Jinnah class) corvettes for Pakistan. It is our pleasure to meet the requirements of our real friends. No matter what others think about it.

Qatar had placed order for 26 Ares family boats, 3 MRTP-34 and 3 MRTP-16 !

I am waiting an order for new special assault team boat called MRTP-24 as well. This boat was specially designed to meet the requirements of Turkish Navy SAT team and I expect a big export success because this boat is able to reach almost 60 kts speed when It was needed.
