What's new

Are we heading towards another Martial Law?

. .
one point to be noted is that military is blamed for swat IDP situation and disgusting people like imran khan, nawaz shareef saying that only 40% is the success chance rate for the army operation

to manage IDP is not the responsibility of pakistan army, its the responsibility of PTI and PMLN govt, not the army, army has the responsibility, to eliminate talibans, thats it, how to bring rule of the state in waziristan after operation clean up, how to maintain peace, how to manage IDPs etc is all the responsibility of Pakistani government and its a very big challenge which they are not willing to accept

army has already said that they can clean up waziristan in one month, what happens after is the responsibility of civilian govt which im more than sure, as seen through the agitation of PTI and PMLN and jamaat islami, they are so nervous, they will surly mess up afterwards

so its the civilian govt who is not ready to handle the situation, and all the blame has been put on pak army

we can see the incompetency of PTI, PMLN, PPP in their respective provinces

i have seen the discussion of jamaati KPK finance minister siraj ul haq etc, they are so shameless that they question things which unknowingly is reflecting their own incompetency, for example, they say, talibans will spread into other areas of pakistan but they don't know that if talibans spread, then its PTI and PMLN who will fail to monitor talibans and make sure they don't escape

i can safely say that those who are opposing the operation are afraid they are being burdened with an extraordinary responsibility which they are neither prepared nor willing to accept

which is very shameful

and we call this farce incompetent governments as democracy

Islam and democracy are incompatible . Ultimately , we will have to choose one of them . A military dictatorship would be much better than a Deoband Emirate led by some filthy Mullah (self claimed Khalifa tul muslimeen)
and Islam and Military dictatorship are fully compatible. Right !!

It seems like the parliament headed by PML-N is on a firm course of collision with the Establishment once again. Almost a decade in exile and Mr Prime Minister is yet to learn from his mistakes. The "Dick-Measuring-Contest" currently being organized solely by PML-N, might yield undesirable effects. All efforts to Dictate the Dictators will come crumbling down the drain.

For the sake of "Democracy" we're headed for a division amongst an already divided state. A state where armed militia are declared as stakeholders and organized gangs roam free promoting sectarian violence, least of Mr Shareef's worry should be to prove an ex Army Chief as a Traitor. Chief of Army Staff, once held by Musharraf, and currently by the brother of a "Nishan-e-Haider" recipient. The valiant son of the soil that laid his life down to engrave his name amongst the ranks of the brave Men of Pakistan Army, is not forgotten by the Nation of "Limited" Heroes. One can't help but wonder whether Pakistan's Current Army Chief is being given a rather glorious option to go down in the history books aswell? Only time will tell.

Pakistan's so-called "Government" is on the verge of chaos. 10 months and we're still "Drafting" policies on countering Terrorism. The Government seems to lack a spine and seems to be missing concrete "Leadership". Every day is treated as a virgin frontier and "Short-Term" solutions are utilized for problems that require a long-term strategic plan. The task of eliminating an invisible enemy now in thousands all over the state is yet again being shoved down Pakistan Military's throat without any strategic planning whatsoever. Our collective death toll as a nation will continue to rise while the Government dreams of bringing "Investment" into world's 2nd most dangerous place to be after Iraq. Long-term Investment strategies on the basis of short-term "Commissions" might seem lucrative enough for all Political Parties involved in the Parliament but only a fool could craft such a magnificent dream to hope for economic growth without providing the very basics of security. Perhaps that's why our "Leadership" is so fond of protecting the "Democratic" system instead of formulating effective strategics to protect its citizens. 10 months and we've yet to decide where we stand on the Taliban Issue. 10 months and we've yet to transfer power to the people. 10 months and our most important issue is the consumption of Alcohol in parliament lodges. 10 months and our most important achievement so far is breaking hundreds of walnuts with our foreheads.

Fashion statement as it may be but the reality is that Pakistan's once again going through a "Nazuk Mor" in its history. The only difference this time around is the educated, slightly aware and enlightened people of the state and establishment are now eager to realize that neither "Sharia" nor "Democracy" is the system to run a diversity rich Pakistan. Perhaps there's a realization in the making that we'd have to custom-design our state rules & regulations and perhaps one such unique "Constitution" is already being drafted & approved by the "Men In Charge" who aren't so far away from presenting it to the common joe's of our deeply catastrophic state. A movement to rebuild the foundations of Pakistan might just be on its way. How far along is the execution? Only time will tell.

Pakistan Zindabad
Pakistan Paindabad

No we are not, there is no chance left of military take over now... we need to learn to take responsibility of our country and help democracy evolve.

Islam and democracy are incompatible . Ultimately , we will have to choose one of them . A military dictatorship would be much better than a Deoband Emirate led by some filthy Mullah (self claimed Khalifa tul muslimeen)

then why we took Azadi from England? you remember the joke about you kind of people, when the King starting butt slapping his nation because they were too dumb & never agitated?, and all they come up with was, please increase the number of butt slapper, because we have to stand and wait long in the queue ?? Yes this is you, slave mentality !

I really thought you had mature concepts about systems, but you are a confused douchebag like any other military apologist !!

Our current leader is a traitor. Did he not order the sacking of Sajjad Ali Shah and go against the constitution?

the military has too much on its plate at this time. an internal insurgency in FATA and to some extent in baluchistan. on top of that the military has to keep an eye on India as well as Afghanistan. as long as the US/west keep supporting a democratic Pakistan and the Pakistani govt. finally realises that it has to solve its own problems itself, economic/power sector being the most critical, then Pakistan can avoid the 'nazak mor' syndrome. the days of military takovers are almost over.....but the army will continue to put pressure on the govt. to ensure that there is no interference in its 'sand-box' as referred by the former CoAS.

I believe that democracy in Pakistan has stabled. I do not foresee any possibility of Martial law for time being.

.
I disagree with the OP.

If the Army did not intervene directly during the last PPP tenure, then there is a far less probability that they would do so in the current PMLN tenure.

Not only is PMLN turning out to be far more competent at running the country, they are also being pragmatic on a lot of things.
The PA on its part has become wiser after the Musharraf fiasco and has realized to some extent that the world has changed, and they must change as well...the alternative is that they would become a disliked commodity in their own land.

English people did the mistake once in their national life.. never repeated the same..

Constitution means Supreme LAW of the FEDERATION, currently by the end of this year Scotland would be gaining independence from England, had they been a constitutionalist country like USA or Pakistan, things might have not gone the way for England and David Cameron had not to cry on TV asking Scottish people to vote in favor of Federation..

So I prefer to respect the constitution of Pakistan which ensures the FEDERATION, things are not well in the country, MQM wants to break the country, Baloch want a separate homeland, and so and so, lets keep evolving democracy to produce better leaders who unite the Nation, rather than to loose the whole country for the sake of some mad generals taking country on a ride for their ambitious designs of power play..

This is the right thing to do, do the job they are designed and trained to do..
