Are there any Space Research center or Astronomical Observatory in Pakistan?

Considering how unpopulated Baluchistan is idea location for observing untainted views of sky or perhaps the mountainous ranges in North

It would be great if we had any article dedicated for it

I suppose I was expecting some info on Astronomical Observatories

Few Observatories in Hwaii etc

Considering how we have high altitude peaks in K2 and other areas perhaps they offer a great view of skies

Or perhaps something like this

The first one ever was Karachi University and SUPERCO and after PIA planetarium in Karachi only and for rest in Pakistan please come up forward our brothers of different areas

We are far far behind from western nations regarding astronomical field. I don't think there is any institute or organization which perform research beside with theory.

They don't have research facilities like observatory telescopes, or satellite or airborne sensors focusing to atmospherical research.
SUPARCO focused is on communication satellites.

Lunar prediction program of SUPARCO - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

And please add these two also in the list
Pakistan Naval Observatory
and
Institute of Space and Planetary Astrophysics (ISPA)

Institute of Astrophysics under Karachi university has observatory telescope which was given by German in 1990. This institute offers MS and PHd programs.

Observatories were common even in old ages not sure why we don't have some since we have such wonderful mountains peaks

Karachi Astronomers Society owns an observatory recently constructed in Karachi, KaAStrodome 1. This is a 12 feet dome observatory which will permanently house a locally designed and constructed 12.5" Newtonian telescope, once completed. KaAStrodome 1 is the deep sky module of the proposed twin observatory KaAStrodome Urban Observatory Complex.

The sky from Karachi has very poor seeing due to light pollution and dust, However we have managed to make the best use of whatever we have and the results are promising. We mainly resort to planetary, lunar and solar studies which yield almost equally good results in urban skies. We have just learnt that observing deep space objects is also a practical option provided good skills. Here is an example of a nebula shot by a member of Karachi Astronomers Society, Abubaker Shekhani from a small telescope at KaAStrodome.

I am just suprised you can get that kind of image in Karachi nights as there is alot of "city light pollution" in major cities
