Joining Pakistan for Kashmiris is a matter of their secured existence.

There is big difference in policies between Democrats and Republicans just like there is a big difference in policies of Congress and BJP.

Democrats are big on Sanctions while Republicans are big on Business.

Congress is non-aligned while BJP is pro-west.

US Democrats + Indian BJP is a disaster in making for India.

Trump looked the other way with regards to Jammu & Kashmir.

This will no longer be the same.

Democrats will first make Kashmir valley independent and then put pressure on Pakistan to make GB & AJK independent.

UPA government was cautious in engaging with the US but when Modi won in 2014 he turned Indian policy greatly towards the US.

He signed all 3 foundational agreements with in a span of couple of years.

Now with Trump presidency gone, India stares at a very antagonistic Biden administration which is poised to enforce crippling sanctions on India from CAASTA to Kashmir to CAA and many more.

I do not think Russia and China trust India any longer.

Modi has truly messed up Indian foreign policy.

He may have paid lip service pandering to the muslim American community during campaigning but it's absurd to think things will sour between the two countries. Expect more arms sales and defence cooperation and a continuing unified stance on China but with much less or little to no bluster and bombast from the white house.

OP is overestimating US influence on India. You'll see India US relationship only getting better be it Kashmir or any other issues.

India had narrowly escaped sanctions following 1975 nuclear tests because of Biden’s vote in the Senate.

The resolution was defeated in the House by just one vote. Also, while the former Republican President George Bush had signed the Indo-US nuclear deal, it was approved by the US Congress, only due to the active support of Democrat Biden in 2008.

Indian diaspora leaders are expecting the new administration to clear the Export Control Act, to allow India to be included in the proposed NATO plus five alliance. This proposed arrangement includes Japan, South Korea, Israel, Australia, and New Zealand.

In a racially charged US, I don't think any minority president (or Vp) could actually do too much for 'their' people.

In their attempt to seem impartial, most minority leaders have to overcompensate. I don't think you can expect too much boat rocking from Kamala Harris either in favour or against India. She could get biden to do some stuff if she really wants it but even in that she'd have to observe limits.

I, However, do not think the elections would change much with regards to Indo-US relations. They would also depend somewhat on the future direction the US wants to move with the Chinese.

Not only Indian origin congress members anti-India, they are pro-Pakistan and Pro-China too. That is the worst nightmare for India.
