My wife complains and feels that the Birth Control medication she is taking is resulting in her putting on weight and causing Hormonal changes in her body and even leading her to feel Low, depressed. She also feels that long term reliance on Birth Control Medication can even lead to infertility down the line which is why she is requesting my permission to get off them.

One can use protection but it kills the fun of sex in bed if relied upon in the long run. One advice I have received from a friend is to just keep track of my wife's monthly cycle i.e. periods and that usually women have very low chances of getting pregnant in the first ten days after their periods.

Others have suggested using the IUD but that has the risks of resulting in infections and even PCOS.

Thought I would get everyone's opinion on this topic.

Hi, I will suggest you a broader, ideological suggestion. You are looking for temporary birth control because you want children at some point but what is it you need children for ? To continue what is called family legacy which is nothing but a historic Capitalist socio-economic sillyness ? Or to have company of children ? If the former then participate in a progressive political movement and get suitable persons from there to manage your company. If the latter then just adopt a child - there will be many children in orphanages and especially adopt a girl. These two things would be infinitely better than producing another human in a South Asia where population has to be controlled, especially male population because lot of South Asian males are just useless and burdens.

And for your conjugal bliss, having read the solutions above, since you don't want to burden your wife it is for you to take the step and do vasectomy. Simple.

Good that there are such threads. South Asia should have not a single male being born for the next 20 years.

2) If you are going to take the risk of doing it, then take the risk associated with it.

If you still want to take a risk then follow one of the preventive measures you already know
