Arab Soldiers Showing Love for Pakistan Army

You know the funny thing is Levina, that this foot soldier makes statements like below, when proof that a Pakistani was caught for spying in the UAE and justifies it by stating that he worked for IRAN. IRAN! UAE's enemy nos 1 who they have outstanding disputes over islands in the Straight of Hormuz...while Indians with no hostilities to UAE but only growing relations and trade are backstabbers for alleged spying for India...LOL!

Interestingly Former DG ISI Gen Pasha is now the head of UAE intel.

Upstaging a superior is not applauded in Middle Eastern & South Asian socities in general, hence they will always be disadvantaged against any western army regardless of any billions they spend
Always upto the mark !

Your analysis are brutally honest and critically analysed. Please do keep on writing various articles that you used to.

At Topic_ What you is very true. About upstaging superiors has become indeed a culture in this part of world. When I was doing my graduation in Uk. I was snubbed at my professor, a fine Welsh Gentleman by calling him as Sir. He bluntly said that since we ( asians) come from a society where anyone superior to your rank is treated as master is the reason why you're humiliating yourself and me. Call me by name !

Most cadets tend to be that age.

That is often if not always the case everywhere. Aristocrats and upper class elites rarely make the 'bread and butter' of any army. It is the poor and mostly rural people make most of the soldiery - excluding of course officer ranks.

Your being modest. I would go further. How about 7 out of the 11 empires?#

Thank you for being honest here. You are saying to the Pakistanis (who are jumping up and down) is, just because some Arabs applauded their Pak officer "guys we Arabs don't have any respect for Pakistanis - indeed we look down at them". Please don't use this video as representing anything. It is just staged for the camera. Quote below.

You have my respect for being brutally honest.

Yes.

Yes, but in many countries joining the army for an extended period of time or a short one is seen as something positive and not limited to social classes. On the contrary the upper classes tend to send their sons to military academies if there is a military tradition in the family. This is also the case in KSA but they don't join this or similar regiments but other ones.

However in KSA mostly (not always of course) such cadets of this age are either people who have performed badly in school or people who don't know what to do. They are not representatives of the actual professional full-time army in KSA and as I wrote, I suspect that many of them won't be seen anywhere in 6 months time or less. That was the point here as previous users were talking about some special forces and this representing the actual professional/full-time army. None of this is true.

It is 4 actually. Rashidun, Umayyad, Abbasid and Fatimid. Including a large number of kingdoms, sultanates, emirates, imamates, sharifates, emirates on 3 continents (Asia, Africa and Europe).

The point here in relation to what I wrote and what I have written afterwards should/cannot be misunderstood unless one wants to do such a thing.

What are you blabbering about? They obviously like him but such affection has been shown to locals and other foreigners too. It's just that a bit more is added due to the camera being present and their young age - hence the showoff part. There is mention of snapchat too. I do not doubt their affinity for this man, why should I? Or maybe you do?

And if anything this does not put Arabs in a bad light (unlike what some people were writing without knowing the facts or details) but rather show us as welcoming and affectionate people which we also are by large. Not only it also shows that we respect Pakistan. So this show of affection was not enough? You would have wanted them to kiss his feet and proclaim that Arabs are beneath Pakistanis before you would be satisfied?

@salarsikander

I am not angry about anything and I do agree with some of your points and I agree that it is very hard if not impossible to emulate such a past and our ancestors actions in this regard much less so in the past 100 years which have quite frankly, been chaotic and much less due to the problems I mentioned and recognized myself which every sane Arab does, mainly the chain of command, the abilities of our current rulers, the neighborhood we live in, harmful outside interference in the past 100 years that frankly everyone in the Muslim world experienced etc. However that is one thing, the historical legacy is another. The post WW2 era does not equal all of history and moreover, have in mind, which other of your compatriots also wrote themselves, that things are moving in the right direction in this regard.

But I think that you will agree with my main points (I see that you do) and more so when I refer to the usual suspects in this regard (belittling Arab military capabilities) which seen objectively speaking (when history is included) is quite hilarious to witness more so for us Arabs. Such behavior, as I wrote earlier, is not found the other way around or if found very, very limited.

In short we currently have no delusions on this front unlike for instance a certain neighbor of ours. I think that you have the same problem with a certain neighbor of yours to the east as well.

Well I am not really sure which GCC country is this..Might be SA.. @Khafee can tell us for sure...! But one thing is sure, Our adversary can do everything but its clear he wouldn't get this Love and Appreciation from GCC people even after decades or centuries...! As @Levina was saying in another thread that for GCC Pakistan and India are equal now...Lol...!

@Windjammer @HRK @Khafee @Bratva @Zarvan

Hi,

Now imagine what the reaction would have been if Pak troops were sent to Yemen with the GCC troops.

Sheikh,

Arabs, now doubt have past and legacy that makes every muslim feel proud to. Thanks to IslamAllhumdulilah.

The people with mis-placed ego have forgotten their place. It was ASad Ullah From Arab, who brought some sense to them. Forr them, Their fake culture and pride is more important than the Islam brought by Brave ARAB asad Ullah warrior of ARABIA.

And further to your post. Muslims never had any good peaceful past, Arabs were always attacked and repulsed it bravely during the great reigns of Khalifas and their successors too. Yet they were still able to make some great discoveries this planet has ever seen. So that means Arabs can work very fine under pressure and create a stable atmosphere which encourages great discoveries which would only be otherwise possible in peacetimes.

And, as I said before Those arabs forefather or sucessor of Khalifas tactics that we still use to modern day. Our tank is named after Famous Khalid commander, our drone is named as Burraq ( the heavenly figure which to Rasool Allah to &th heaven) Our newest Missile is named ABabeel ( the birds that dropped stones on the army of Abraha) so You see we proudly exhibit our Islamic history as you may call it. But unless the radical shift is taken in culture and worked upon, We will continue to see terrible performance. ( Again Not at all Looking down upon Arabs)

We will continue to train and fight along the successors of those great people until they have gained their lost bravery and start to teach us that, for which they are famously known.

@Bratva

The article that you posted says the same that I wrote/alluded to. It is a structural problem and something that the current elites in power are to be blamed for although this is nowadays improving for the better.

However historically speaking Arabs have some of the most impressive military and imperial history of any people out there. Nobody can deny this as history is clearly a witness of this.

So people, who with all due respect do not have the same military legacy as Arabs have, should not make fun of modern-day Arab soldiers because under the right leadership they can be as good as any other very capable military.

For once we can lose the next 100 wars (not going to happen but just an example) yet nobody can take our impressive military legacy (matched by very few peoples) away from us. So a bit of respect would not hurt from the ignorant lot. Not talking about anyone here specifically but just in general.

Because I don't see Arabs belittling people who historically speaking cannot/have not matched Arab military history. That is 90% + of all people. So we could easily make fun of various ethnic groups in South Asia in this regard if we wanted to but I never see such behavior. It's almost always the other way around which I find strange.
By that measurement the persians have massive history, the greeks and so on and so forth.
This need to live in the past is a failure of Muslim societies to this day.

Salahuddin Ayubi has done his service to his time and people, and has returned to Allah;his actions are his own and for the Muslims of his time. you are still here and are able to affect your actions only regardless of how fast and effectively the forces of Khalifa Umar ibn khattab took jerusalem.

Today's Saudi dancing and snab chatting is going to get a bullet to hus head and his brains splattered to the floor against even the slightest organized enemy , and Saif-Allah Khalid bin Waleed is not going to be asked for be answerable for it

Neither the Persians nor the Greeks created bigger empires than Arabs or more of them for that matter.

I think that you have not read my posts in their entirety or misunderstood them.

I was the first one here to write about the problem of the chain of command and general structure of many Arab militaries and the political situation in the past many decades. However I also wrote, as you did if I am not wrong, that things are improving.

We are talking past each other. Please read this thread from the beginning and my posts. Nothing controversial let alone factually wrong.

Speaking about KSA, just in the past 3 years we have made significant positive steps toward the right direction and this makes me hopeful for the future. In any case we have enough of firepower to defend ourselves from the most delusional/adventurous enemies. Not only that a very large support base. Not that I believe in any large-scale wars occurring in our region anytime soon.

In any case for people to look down on Arab armies as some did in this thread (without having even remotely the same pedigree as Arabs) is obviously exposing them and nobody else nor can I see how this video shows Arabs in a bad light, rather the opposite as I explained earlier.

10/10. I do note that your post makes referance to the 'Muslims' as opposed to 'Arabs'. If the byword of the time was 'Islam' then ethnicity should be subsumed. On the other hand if the 'Arab' was the primary driver then we should stress 'Arab'.

I stress muslims because this attitude prevails in Pakistan as well, which I had mentioned earlier.

We tend to believe that by some virtue of genetic and spritual providence we are going to have the same success in battle as our spritual and genetic ancestors.
47,65,71,siachen,Kargil to the early waziristan operations are all testament otherwise.

What matters is fighting ethos, training and mentality of leadership.

You are still repeating the same presumptive mistake I have pointed out. Pedigree is as relevant today as what flavour cake you ate on your 6th birthday.

The usage of siege cannons to attack Jerusalem has little relevance in today's combat environment.

An enemy will not care less if your pedigree leads to your ancestor sitting on a throne or cleaning out a horse stable.

Among the Middle eastern military forces, KSA has been much slower to the issue of effective reorganization and training. The Yemen conflict has been the awakening along with the more educated and informed younger blood now coming along in the higher echelons of the Ruling circle

Those people are 17-18 year old cadets. Mostly from the lower classes as nobody outside of this class sees the military as a long-term career.

Also they have nothing to do with any special forces. I guess that 50% of them won't be seen anywhere in 6 months time or less. Many join the military because they have nothing better to do or have failed in school.

They are not representatives of anything and obviously much of their reaction is "staged" as there is a camera so they want to show off.

Don't forget that Arabs, mainly from modern-day KSA, created 4 of the 11 largest empires in human history more than any other ethnic group in top 15. Arabs can fight and very well. History is a clear witness of this for all to see.

More recent failures (mostly the wars against Israel - the youngest of which almost 50 years old now) have nothing to do with the average soldier but the chain of command and usual incompetence by our current and past (contemporary) "brilliant" leaders.

Well my point is that there needs to be a certain level of professionalism in the armed forces. I'm not saying soldiers are robots and can't have a good time but the video posted was a little too much.

Discipline is taught to us by Islam. That's why there were many Arab empires and also why Muslims in general make good soldiers. It is just our way of life. We pray 5 times a day and generally abstain from vices. This level of discipline has been ingrained in us since birth.

Anyways I wasn't trying to troll or take the thread off topic it was just my observation.
