LFC (Light Fighter China) -16, as far as I know, is a joint project between China's Guizhou Aviation (a civil airliner, I believe) and a privately owned Chinese company. It showed up in 2004 airshow and then just disappeared. However I heard that, just recently, the prototype has had its maiden flight.

It is rumored that the Chinese navy is interested, possibly for carriers. I am not sure.

I am not sure about it but china has done some wonders during the past decade, actually China Had been doing wonders since 1949. I have heard and perhaps seen the picture of an aircraft seems to be F16, I will try to upload the image....But I m not sure about it..:pakistan::china:

seems a decent fighter.................don't think PLAAF will be a J-10/J-11 force only they need light fighters like FC-1 LFC-16 as well to maintain cost effectiveness

it was a downgraded export version [based on JL-9] without fly by wire -- a low cost fighter for export , perhaps even cheeper than jf17. But the progress of L15 and jf17 has dampened its export prospects-- i have seen conflicting reports if a flying model was eventually made in 2009 or not
