its chitral. there is a place called shandur beyond chitral and that has got the worlds highest polo ground. every year there is festival which is called
shandur polo festival and is held during july. really famous in both foreigners and pakistanis. if u have got even a little bit of breathin problem, its not a gud place to go. we almost lost our driver but he was quite old. thanks to the medical camp which was being setup there for the festival. also i didnt really lik the weather up there. it was too cold during the night and during the day my skin was burning. it wasnt hot but i guess we were close enough to the sun to make our skin burn. only 4 by 4 jeep can take u up there. also there are no hotels coz only part of the year when u see lif up there is during the festival. so its all about camping if u wanna spend a night. beware of the snow leapords if u decide goin for hiking in any of the mountains sorrounding chitral. most probably u wont end up seein them coz they live at quite high altitudes but precautions should always be taken. who knows as once a pair of cheetah ended up comin to islamabad from the hills which lie at the back of the city.
other than chitral, gilgit and skardu are also quite famous for polo. actually chitral and gilgit have got this hystoric rivalry when it comes to polo.

My plans are unformed. I was maybe planning to go this month but I will instead go to China. (The Chinese made obtaining a visa difficult so I didn't think I would end up going but they eventually granted.)

This will be difficult travel so I will have to go when I have at least 2.5 weeks free. So, perhaps, only in the summer.
