What's new

Any doctor here... need advice. .

Nope he didn't found any thing clinical... i was there... all reports were normal except PSA, FPSA, BPH, albumin traced...
i am not bothering about BPH... but doctor said 70% cancer possibility immediately after looking TPSA...
you cant tell if it is a ca prostate just by psa levels unless levels are insanely high >10
as far as biopsy is concerned...>4 is absolute indication for biopsy!

Did you mean to say doctor didn't perform DRE (Digital rectal examination) ?
not performed... he just seen TPSA , BPH, FPSA... other blood reports like HIV,Blood sugar , urine tests.

@Emmie, Actually, My father is over 75 and he has got it controlled through medicine. He is afraid of blade, as he along with many are afraid that them may end up holding a urine catcher for the rest of their life. So what would you suggest for all men here to do to stir clear of these common man's problems?

We all need these kind of advice as we are all moving towards that phase!!

he may have urinary tract infection...which is common in people with bph...if he has fever too...you take him to doctor for antibiotics...

thats outrageous!!!!

u mean to say the surgeon didnt do DRE.....??
he didn't Bro... he just keep insisting more possibility of chronic condition...

That's astonishing, really astonishing... Lab reports can be falsely positive, how can he, the consultant, proceed for biopsy without performing DRE? That's weird!

If your father doesn't have backache, he's able to walk without difficulty, and have normal bowel habits then you absolutely need not to worry.. Change the doctor as soon as possible.

that's bad... physical examination of any case is incomplete without per rectal examination!!!
dont worry bro...get the biopsy done in a reputed diagnostics...
