Anti-terrorist units for all provinces: PM ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has directed all provinces to set up special units in their respective law enforcement departments to deal with terrorist activities in Pakistan.
Chairing a high-level meeting at PM House to review law and order situation in the country, he ordered law enforcing agencies not to get involved in political issues and stay away from political quarters.
The prime minister said these units should make focused, concerned and coordinated efforts to deal with violence perpetuated by extremist, sectarian and ideological groups.
The meting was attended by Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, Minister of State for Defence Zafar Warraich, senior officers of Punjab, Sindh, NWFP, Balochistan, AJK, Northern Areas and Islamabad.
