Anti-encroachments drive from Oct 1: Aleem

Senior Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan Friday said that an aggressive campaign would be launched against encroachments across Punjab from October 1.
“No political pressure will be accepted and steps will be taken to restore the original condition of buildings,” he added. He was presiding over a meeting at Civil Secretariat here, in which Law Minister Mohammad Basharat Raja, Punjab chief secretary, IG police, secretaries and commissioners, deputy commissioners, RPOs, DPOs and officers concerned were present through video link.
The minister asked the commissioners to arrange for alternative place for cart holders in their respective areas and register them first, so that they could be given some relief. He said that soon after removing encroachments, a cleanliness and city beautification campaign would be launched in all districts so that the main roads and important sites of all cities could be rehabilitated. Aleem Khan said that for acting upon the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, there should be no lapse and every officer should perform up to the mark.
He said that officers performing extraordinarily would be given full encouragement and their performance would be acknowledged as well. Law Minister Mohammad Basharat Raja appreciated the performance of all the field officers in Moharram-ul-Haram and said that such spirit should remain active all the time.
Chief Secretary Punjab Akbar Husain Durrani ordered for ensuring removal of encroachments in daylight so that any untoward incident could be avoided.
Senior Provincial Minister Abdul Aleem Khan held a reception in honour of the winners of Gold Medal in Dubai in international competitions of Weight Lifting for Women.
In this championship, three Pakistani girls secured gold, four silver and two brown medals who also defeated India in these competitions.
The senior minister said: “Our women have again proved that they are not behind from men in any field and our girls have proven their talent in a difficult games like weight lifting on which they deserve congratulations from every Pakistani.”
He said it was needed that all kind of sports should be patronized and especially opportunities should be provided to the girls to come with their talent and present potential in every game.
Aleem Khan promised them to arrange meetings with the minister Sports and the Chief Minister Punjab for their encouragement and also provide them proper facilities by the Sports Board Punjab.
He said “We all should work to extend the maximum opportunities for the young generation in playing fields so that they can be engaged in positive activities.”
Senior Minister gave a cash award pocket for each medal winner and also offered them his all-out cooperation in future as well. Gold Medal winners Veronika Sohail, Twinkle Sohail and Nuzhat Jabeen, Silver Medallists Saniha Ghafoor, Nadia Maqsood and Rabbia Razzaq and Bronze Medallists Sybil Sohai and Mariyum Sohail and their coach Muhammad Rashid Malik expressed their special thanks to Senior Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan for hosting reception and giving them honour
