Another record for Tendulkar; scales 50,000-run mark - Rediff Cricket

Senior batsman Sachin Tendulkar on Saturday conquered another landmark, scoring an astounding 50,000 runs in competitive cricket across all formats.

Needing 26 runs on the day to achieve the feat, Tendulkar tucked one towards mid-wicket for a single off left-arm spinner Yannick Ottley, in the Champions League T20 match between Mumbai Indians and Trinidad and Tobago, to reach another milestone in his glorious career, spanning close to two-and-a-half decades.

He scored 35 off 31 balls before edging one to Denesh Ramdin off Lendl Simmons' bowling.

Congrats to him for one more accomplishment but time for him to retire as he has overstayed his welcome. He took advices from Gavaskar at different times in his career - wish he could have taken another example from him for retirement as well and gone when he was on a high.

He should retire now.... but no BCCI member has guts to say on his face to retire.... thats our Sachin :)

Congrats for this 50,000 Landmark..... Wow he is Run machine....

For the love of god, just retire already. You are already a great cricket player and a legend. If you drag your career out then it will just look bad over all.
