Yesterday, one member 'huizigang' leaked information about another Chinese stealth fighter is about to finish its final assembly at ShenFei, and is going to have its madian flight at the end of this year....

He was the same member who leaked the Chendu J-20 in 2009 with extreemly accurate description of J-20 like canard, DSI and one pieve canopy``etc``since then his sources become very trusted among various chinese defense forums``

he said, the Shenfi j-xx approaches more conventional design rather than the radical ones on chendu's J-20. its fuslage and tails are quite similar to those of F-22, and the size is quite big as well. there is no DSI and All-moving tail, it has very big weapon bay, dont know to what comparison``

he didnt upload pics, i guess he tries to have some limit otherwise will be invited for a 'tea talk'``

here is the link, but its in chinese``maybe some member here can translate```please dont use google translator

i don't understand why 2 Stealth jets with 2nd one also supposedly having twin engines. We were hearing of a single engine stealth design too, may be this 2nd project is the single engine version.

Or may be there would be competition between the J-20 and this new design and then the final winner is decided on which the production model would be based.

Dunno exactly the reason...but every country which is developing a 5th Gen jet is having a parallel program running. US [F-22 & F-35], China[ j-20 and the other speculated one], Russia[ PAK-FA & mig 1.44 stealth] and India[FGFA & AMCA]. Maybe an expert can shed some light on why this is happening.

There was also an very good loking 3rd gen jet which was not selected for production can you name it or post it pics

As for the US, they always have a competition between the two giant aircraft manufacturers, to get the best out of both.

And as for China, we hardly have seen from them 2 aircrafts with similar specifications fighting with each other. They are a controlled aviation sector, thus they don't divide their resources, rather combine them into making something out of it.

Russian Mig 1.44 was a technological testbed, meaning it was not considered as a prototype of an actual design, thus it can't be termed as a serious contender for a fighter design.

PAK-FA & FG-FA are the same aircraft, but name has been changed to the specifications of the user, PAK-FA would be the Russian Version, wile FGFA would be the Indian specification jet, so they can't be considered separate programs.

And as for AMCA, its yet on the design board and has quiet a time to cover before it becomes alive. Also, FGFA is the Russian jet, while the concept behind AMCA is to have an all Indian jet in service.

So something with similar specifications coming up from the Chinese is new thing to hear.

^^^FGFA is a twin seated aircraft. PAK-FA is single seat.

according to huzigeng, the single engine stealth fighter was considered as the other cac jxx will be special designed for paf( a ws15 engine export version).and sac jxx is the low cost fighter in the future plaaf high-low 5 gen fighter .he said sac jxx is bigger than su27.a very big fighter........

only time prove huzigeng's said.....

The SAC already lost the competition in the national J-XX project which the CAC J-20 is the winner. However, the J-20s role is the air-superior like the F-22,the PLAAF still need a F-35 class stealth striker to form a High-Low combination. The solution is either to develop a J-20 strike variant or use the lost SAC J-xx design while the time cost is the same. The good sight of using the SAC desigh is that it will keep a strong insititute which could constantlly give the CAC enough pressure, otherwise the SAC will die eventurally.Regarding why to use the twin engine design is due to China doesnt have or would like to have a F139 class engine while the WS15 is the only option.China doesnt lack the money or resources but the time, thats why they are working on the SAC J-XX.The ironic part is the lost SAC j-xx might get more orders from the PLA comparing to the CAC J-20.

PS:Most likely at the end of this year or early 2012 we need to set another special J-XX thread.

Actually, the US Navy was originally very much opposed to single engines for the F-35 and wanted their own twin engine stealth program for carriers. If given the choice today, they would still pick twin engines for performance/reliability reasons. The only thing good about single engines is that it's cheaper.

there is another speculation, that the Shenfei J-xx lost to CAC's J-20 years ago, but however the government dont want to see CAC dominating the stealth jet area, so they gave the budget to SAC to future develp the lost J-xx (which is very conventional) mainly for future anvy usage```which makes very sense, at the moment, SAC has been working on J-16 (Su-33 Chinese version) for quite a time now, it gives very experience to SAC, and lay down the fundation

China's 5G fighter 'a showoff'

Topic: 49th International Paris Air Show in Le Bourget

LE BOURGET (France), June 20 (RIA Novosti)

China's fifth-generation fighter program is more for effect than substance, Russia's leading aircraft maker said on Monday.

China carried out its first test-flight of a fifth-generation stealth fighter in January.

"It was more a demonstration than a real program," Mikhail Pogosyan, head of United Aircraft Corporation, said.

The Chinese aircraft industry is developing successfully but it lacks what is required for a breakthrough, he said.

"There will be no breakthroughs here. Great scale and great experience are needed to carry out such programs," Pogosyan said.

( speeder 2: "great scale"? are 1.3 billion head count and $ 3 trillion reserve great enough? And what sort of "great experience" on his mind? Third Encounter with those green "men"? :undecided: )

Russia is testing its own fifth-generation aircraft T-50 PAK FA developed by the Sukhoi design bureau. The aircraft is expected to become operational in 2015.

China's prototype Black Silk J-20 stealth fighter is thought to be similar to the U.S. F-22 Raptor and the Russo-Indian T-50 jets, although imagery and video footage appearing on the internet suggested the Chinese model is larger. This means it could be capable of flying a longer range and carrying a heavier load.

China has been working on a future fighter program since the mid-1990s, and the J-20 is notionally anticipated to enter service around 2018-2020.

So my question is: how come Ruskies are more and more like big-talk Indians? :woot:

well, 2nd thought, the Yuri must have been a new recruit as an Int'l member of PLAAF's Strategic Propaganda Unit specialising in Counter Intelligence :smitten:
