Prime Minister Imran Khan has appointed his decades old British national friend Sahibzada Amir Jahangir aka Chico Jahangir as his Special Assistant to Foreign Investments. Earlier, Chico Jahangir was seen holding attending government meetings and holding government documents while having no appointment.

According to reports, he is close with Imran Khan for the last four decades. Walima ceremony of Imran Khan's first marriage with Jemima Khan was held at his house in London. Also, he hosted renowned fundraising dinner in London for Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital during which Amitabh Bachan and Daleep Kumar was invited. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan also performed at the event.

This is not the first time that only being close friends with Prime Minister Imran Khan are enough credentials for foreigners to be appointed State Minister in Pakistan. Earlier, Zulfi Bukhari was appointed as Advisor to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis who happens to be a proud British and is facing NAB charges as his name was included in Panama Leaks for owning offshore companies.

Well said. Any leader will appoint people from a pool he knows and he can trust/thinks can get the job done. Exercise of power is largely about vision and then delegating the job of getting it done to people who you feel will deliver. If as you said this does not work out at the next election he will have to pay for those mistakes. This is how it works.

Pakistan stands at a crossroads because if let us say after 5 year rule PM IK has failed to deliver what options will the country have. More of Nawaz or Mr 10% or even puppy Bhutto-Zardari? Sad prospects.

And PM IK has a better record of delivery then Nawaz or Zardari. What is on Nawaz's resume? I don't even know of his educational background but I have read enough to know that he is not vey bright. The only achievement in his life was being selected by military dictator General Zia and then once being groomed into power using it to build patronge networks to sustain hmself largely by using public money. Prior to being a military made politician what exactly was his credentials or achievements? Non.

The other alternative is Zardari. His only achievement was being Benezir Bhutto's Husban. Other than looting by earning the moniker Mr 10% he also has zero credentials.

By comparison IK is a giant. He was one of the top sportsman of Pakistan and went on to become probably the most recognized and famous Pakistan in the world. He then provided the dynamism and energy to build two cancer hospitals which are a legacy to this person's character. Compared to Nawaz or Zardari's nominal education IK is a Oxford graduate.

And we can all firmly agree when he retires IK is going to back to Bani Gala. He is not suddenly going to have a fortune and portfolio of investments in London or Dubai. It's just going to be the plain Kaptaan. His two boys in London don't need any money. Their mother Jemima is heiress of the billioniare British financier Goldsmith - one of the richest men in UK. They are set for life.

Our Kaptaan will retire on top of Bali Gala and walk around in his Pehawari chappels with his dogs. That is it.
