This project is being financed by loans, and look how they are wasting the money. Double set back for the country because we have some d!ckheads in govt.


lol i feel which country needs enemies when we have political leaders like these in our countries and sad part is viable options are limited and scarce. Imran khan is an option but i m seeing here he too is been pulled down despite not being tested even once at national level and NS and PPP have got many chances

They do such things because they know they have idiot followers and in the end they'll go untouched no matter what they'll do.
 
A breakthrough has come in concentrated solar thermal (CST) technology, using parabolic mirrors. Pilot CST projects in the US and Spain have raised hopes of solar power at Rs 5 per unit. But this is still far higher than the tariff per unit for India’s ultra-mega power projects at Sasan (Rs 1.19), Tilaiya (Rs 1.77), Mundra (Rs 2.26) and Krishnapatnam (Rs 2.33). The first two are based on Indian coal, and the other two on imported coal. Even allowing for rising coal import prices and a heavy carbon tax, coal-based power looks much cheaper.solar energy do cost around Rs 9
 
They do such things because they know they have idiot followers and in the end they'll go untouched no matter what they'll do.
why not take electricity from india man we have shut down two thermal plant in punjab india due to no demand , also half of work is already done for supplt to pakistan

Before you go on harping, you need to realize that the cost per unit is determined by NEPRA. Basically, the cost at which they will buy electricity from the power producer.....this has to be high because there is large amount of power that will never be paid up because of thefty/distribution losses, meaning the average price at which NEPRA has to purchase is very high. So this is the price they quote, and you will see that many different type of energy generation figures are around the 14 Rs mark.

If more and more people actually paid for the electricity consumed, then NEPRA will have more revenue to play with, thus bringing the cost of electricity down.
 
There is no denying that producing electricity from solar is most expensive. The government should not directly invest in this sector. Just reduce any duties and tax.

I did some analysis and below are the estimated cost of energy till 2055. The analysis is based on Per Capita energy of 800 kWh growing to almost 3800 kWh by 2055 for population starting at 189 million and growing to 360 million people. It is also assumed that we produce all our energy from anyone source. I can easily do a mix of energy sources analysis. Furthermore the analysis is based on current prices and have not taken into account of any price changes.
I can add Solar Power to this but it will just skew the chart and would not make any sense.

I know all this stuff. The thread was about the feasibility of the project. Have you watched the video in OP? From the look of your post, I think you didn't.

punjab currently has the lowest distribution/transmission losses compared to all the provinces. The losses are not that big.

Regardless of what plant you set up, your cost will be very high in Pakistan, for the reasons i have mentioned.

If your Immi Khan can do a better job, so be it. So you would rather not have electric power than have expensive power?

Yup. Sounds like an ignorant PTian to me.
