Annual Efficiency Award Ceremony of Pakistan Navy held
KARACHI, Jan 25 (APP): Vice Admiral Asaf Humayun, Chief of Staff Pakistan Navy, has said that the rapid advancements in the field of information technology and exceptional boom in military hardware signify the evolution of new training methodology to keep pace with international training standards. This was stated in a press release of ISPR (Navy) issued here on Friday.
Vice Admiral Asaf said that for progress of an effective naval force, training establishments are required to produce proficient officers and men capable of optimally exploiting new technologies and face the challenges of dynamic naval warfare.
He was addressing the Annual Efficiency Award ceremony of Comkar Command of Pakistan Navy held at PNS Bahadur on Friday.
Cognizant of this fact, he further said concrete steps for computer based training are being taken which would certainly change the training methodology from orthodox teaching to modern concept of interactive learning.
He emphasized the need to fully exploit expertise and available resources and achieve professional excellence through dedication and sheer hard work.
Chief of Staff congratulated the award winners and urged them to further enhance their professional expertise and meet the challenges of real time situations and operations both in peace and war.
Earlier, in his welcome address Commander Karachi Rear Admiral Bakhtiar Mohsin said that the institution of Annual Efficiency Award in Comkar Command since 2003 has helped to generate healthy competition to achieve the desired level of proficiency.
During the period under review from January to December 2007, all the units were critically evaluated for their efforts and performance in the fields related to training, operations and sports throughout the year, he added.
Later, Vice Admiral Asaf Humayun gave away trophies and prizes to the winners.
The overall efficiency shield in major units went to PNS Bahadur whereas in smaller and services units PNS Dilawar claimed the trophy.
PNS Rahbar was adjudged the best in Safety and Gunnery whereas PNS Shifa and PNS Karsaz received trophies for being the best in the categories of Medical and Sports respectively.
