Angelina Jolie promised to ''do what she can'' for flood-ravaged Pakistan.​

The Oscar-winning actress, 35, is a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Speaking as she promoted her new action thriller, Salt, in London's Leicester Square she said: ''I'm doing what I can. I'm talking to Ambassador Richard Holbrook, the UN and people on the ground about how we can spend our money.''

Jolie, who attended the premiere with Brad Pitt, added: ''It's unravelling every minute, it seems to be getting worse so we're trying to keep track of it.

''A lot of people say it is important to visit but maybe in a month or two when the cameras go away - we don't know when is the best time.

''We're just going to keep on it and listen and take advice from the people on the ground as to what is best to do.''

Wearing a silver sequinned floor-length gown by Amanda Wakeley and Salvatore Ferragamo heels, Jolie thanked the thousands of fans who had waited for her - some camped out for 27 hours.

In Salt, which also stars Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor, she plays a CIA officer who goes on the run after being accused of being a Russian spy

''I love doing action and I think that when you like what you do, it's contagious and hopefully people will like it too,'' she said.

''I love it - I love to punch things, jump off things and shoot, so I'm lucky I got the job.''

Angelina Jolie is donating 100,000 dollars to help Pakistan's flood victims

PARIS — Hollywood star Angelina Jolie, in Europe to promote her spy thriller "Salt", has handed 100,000 dollars (78,000 euros) to help refugees from Pakistan's floods, UN sources told AFP.

A crowd of 1,000 fans engulfed the 34-year-old actress, who is also a goodwill ambassador for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, when she stepped out of a limousine in Paris on Tuesday evening clad in a short shiny number with plunging neckline for the French premiere of the movie.

A UNHCR source attending the gala screening said she had donated the sum to help relieve Pakistan, where aid has been short and slow in coming.

In the film Jolie plays captivating CIA officer Evelyn Salt, who is accused of being a Russian spy and must prove her innocence while on the run.

Well her contribution is solely for Pakistani flood victims, if i recall correctly, she & Bratt Pitt also came to Pakistan after 2005 Earth Quakes. So she does seem to have a soft spot for victims of any tragedy in Pakistan. i dont see Gwenth paltow or Julia roberts being pro-human in this sense. In the light of the negative portrayal of pakistani image in USA, if she is still concerned about people in Pakistan then she is being pro-pakistani.

and Julia Roberts donated $1 million to help with relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. I hope she opens up her bank account a little bit to help out South Asia - after all, she recently became a Hindu. What better act than to help out Pakistan? Very noble, if she does it.
