I dont care. I´m not an oriental like you, so this concept to freak out about jokes is alien for me. I´m a european. Satire and nasty jokes are part of our culture and were even back so in the roman empire.

Erdogan doesn´t use german law. He uses a law the germans will delete now because its medival. Its clear that Bohmermann wont get any big penalty. So why does Erdogan do this? It virtually destroys the little respect he still had and made him look like Kim Jong Un. Do you realize that we erached a level where EU parliamentarials cal him "the mad man from the Bosporus"? He is now target of countless satirical videos all over europe and completly made a joke.

Who advices him to do what he does? It was obvious this would happen.

As i said, orientals dont understand the concept of a advanced legal systems. He broke no law. The government allows the legal system to investigate the case. If the court decides a law was broken it will give him a penaltly. Most likely a small monetary fee. If the court decides no law was broken then no law was broken.

The government has no power to see if a law was broken or not.

We are in europe my friend. Not in a banana republic. And to make things clear, i support your freedom of speech, even so you come from a country where atheists are hacked to death.

But i also give you the opportunity here to enrich us with some intelectually bangladesh beliefes. Can you name me some international famous philosophers, scientists or artists from your country?

Erdogan in this case used german law, and chanceller gave go ahead to prosecute under that law. Its upto judge to decide whether the satirist violated the said german law. The lawyers will be germans, the court will be german court.
Read the above para again and again, till you understand that is the fact. And I am stating second time.
What will happen to Erdogan is secondary, the satirist was targeting the law, if you understand his satire(see is other videos) you will get it.

BTW I dont understand why chancellor should get involved, in India(and am sure in UK too), politicians dont have power to give such go aheads. Its upto agencies and courts and the due process.

The German chancellor has authorised the prosecution of comedian Jan Böhmermann for reading out an offensive poem about the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Angela Merkel insisted her government’s decision did not amount to a verdict on whether the comedian was guilty or not, but should be understood as a reaffirmation of the judiciary’s independence.

“In a constitutional democracy, weighing up personal rights against freedom of the press and freedom of expression is not a matter for governments, but for public prosecutors and courts,” Merkel said in a press conference on Friday.

Merkel was left with the final decision on whether Germany’s state prosecutor should start proceedings against Böhmermann, after Erdoğan requested the comedian be prosecuted.

Under an obscure paragraph of Germany’s criminal code, prosecutions for insults against organs or representatives of foreign states requires both a notification from the offended party and an authorisation from the government.

Merkel confirmed reports that there had been disagreements on the Böhmermann affair between the foreign ministry, interior ministry, justice ministry and her own office.

The chancellor also announced that she considered the paragraph of the German legal code that had allowed the Turkish president to request the prosecution to be unnecessary, and that legal steps would be taken towards scrapping it. Paragraph 103 of the German criminal code criminalises insults against organs or representatives of foreign states.

The chancellor expressed “grave concerns” about the prosecution of individual journalists in Turkey, as well as growing limitations to the right to protest, but emphasised Germany’s close diplomatic ties with the country.

The poem was read in a short clip on a late-night programme screened on the German state broadcaster ZDF at the end of last month, where Böhmermann sat in front of a Turkish flag beneath a small, framed portrait of Erdoğan, reading out a poem that accused the Turkish president of, among other things, “repressing minorities, kicking Kurds and slapping Christians while watching child ****”.

The scene was broadcast shortly after it emerged that Turkey had demanded the deletion of another satirical song from the German comedy show extra3, and Böhmermann’s poem was deliberately framed as a test of the boundaries of satire.

Throughout his reading, the comedian is advised by a “media lawyer” who tells him this is precisely the sort of thing that does not qualify as satire.

I don´t consider "islamic scholars" to be great minds. They are bound to a religion. I dont see our catholic priests as great thinkers as well for the same reasons.

2. We need satire and its integral part of your society and culture. It gives us a way to deal with bad events and things we consider foul. Satire can be traced back to roman times. Charlie Hebdo is important as is any other satirical magazine and media. Making fun about officials, parties and certain groups is important for a free society.

3. That said, i would like to hear your opinion in a case where a bangladeshi comedia mocks our PM Renzi. Or the pope. Or italy as a whole. If italy reacts angered by this and calls your leaders. How should they react?

The law says that a foreign power has a right to request a trial,
so they follow the law, but they stressed that the fact that there will be a trial,
does not mean that they have an opinion whether he is guilty or not.

The guy made a video about all the things that you are not allowed to call Erdogan according to the law,

To me Islamic scholars are some of the most intellectully brightest minds out there. They spend decades studying the book of God and God's message to mankind and they spend their lives guiding and advising people and not compromising their beliefs even for all the wealth and power of the world. They treat the disease of the heart and mind and deals with social and emotional issues of human beings. U can google Ibn taymiyah, Ahmed Ibn hanbal, imam nawawi, Abu hanifa, imam shafi, imam Bukhari etc etc. They were some amazing scholars who by the will and permission of God changed the course of history.

As for your questions:

1) your first question is a strawmen argument. When did I say EU should be like BD? Are u out of your mind? That was very intellectually disingenuous of you. BD is a 3rd rate secular shithole and not a good example to follow. Infact it's BD which follows Europe. It still follows British common laws that allows the president to pardon convicted rapists and murderers just Bcs they are secular ruling party members.

2) that's what your society has become over the last 200 years. If u need vulgar satire and making fun of dead children to relieve your stress then their is something seriously wrong with your society , IMO? But then again that's just me , a fundementalist Muslim. U enlightened liberals may see something funny in other people's agony in calamities that my fundementalist eyes can't see.

3) 99.99% don't even know who Renzi is. 95% don't even know Obama or Hillary. But assuming your hypothetical strawmen scenario , most won't even comprehend making jokes like "Renzi fucking goats". Some may make normal jokes but if some egalitarian liberals influenced by western liberalism do make such vulgar jokes he won't find any takers here. Btw erdogan didn't ask for that comedian's blood. He asked Germany to follow due process of German law. I don't see why anyone including u should be hysteric abt that.
