Analyzing PTI's Peace March Against US Drone Warfare in FATA

the objective does not go by. it is actually to let the american people know how even their representatives select to kill innocent people. i wonder if USA can justify these killings, the terrorists round the globe are doing it their way either. but the target of both lies in the innocent, most of the times. i hope this march succeeds in inciting the feeling that drones are not just the only way out to the SW-NW problem.

Your and Solomon obsession with PA Army seems to have no bounds. :bounce:

Perhaps it would be more appropriate to respond to the content of the posts rather than the posters themselves? Or perhaps the points made are correct and no cogent reply is possible?

Have you forgotten how DPC'c rallies were pumped up after Salala on the same theme, only to be dampened down when they had served their purpose? Was that done by the khakis or not? Please do tell.

Your & Solomon's every point is correct, there is nothing wrong with them, when it comes to Pakistan and Khakis

Khakis are running the show and they are doing one damn good job, compared to the civilians.

cant watch the video...

But social networking websires aee abuzz with stories of grand reception IK is getting all along his way to waziristan....
Copy that! Spoke to a few tribal elders (sardars of there different tribes), who under normal circumstances don't bother moving their arses, were present at the gathering in Tank!

Well, to be as honest as you have been, the khaki are running the show but clearly more than what they should be, and it is only a carefully cultivated image that they are doing a better job than the civilians. The results are quite evident for all to see: ALL are busy running the ship of state into the ground.

VC, you know very well that if total power were to be handed over to the CV's, there would've been no ship to salvage!

When civilians leave a space which they should cover, someone will jump in to cover that, and who else is left after the civilians.

For me after looking at the economic indicators and other stuff happening inside Pakistan, Khakis have done a good job when it comes to civilians. Khakis may have done blunders, no doubt, but blunders of civilians are nothing to forget.

All are to be blamed, no one among them is a saint.

i personally think IK should not adhere to improvisation.
i dont think any sane Pakistani would like the scheme of US drone attacks. but marching towards the danger zone, with lives of so many under threat, just to oppose the drone strikes, is really stupid.

Recently, ANYTHING new to Pakistan is stupid for it's people...EACH AND EVERY person who took part knew what they were signing up for...The willingly did it..THIS is called initiatives! YES! Lives were put to danger...BUT isn't that what those in wazirstan face EVERYDAY?

A Muslim fasts during Ramadan to feel the hunger of those less fortunate...Are we stupid to do that? One can not comprehend certain situations until you are in their shoes and walk their path!

These peace activists walked towards the danger zone both in protest of the war as well as to face the fear those in Wazirstan face each day...Each knew they may not return...

had it been a good way of solving the problems, it would have been adopted by the pioneers of our history, those the world recognises, and those we admire. but we seldom receive wisdom. a lot of us move where we are rolled. if we want to revolutionise, our method to protest must change now.

Would you kindly suggest ONE METHOD which would be an equal eye opener both to the world as well as those brave souls who joined the walk? FOR goodness sake! People from abroad came to do something SOME typical Pakistani didn't want to or wouldn't! They could have walked right into a bombardment trap or whatsoever...Yet they went with it...The protest was announced world wide ANY idiot who was against peace could have made a plan and ruined everything...EVERYONE knew the danger when they agreed for the walk.

And for those negative minded souls...Please wake up...What other forms of protest has worked against the drones? LETTERS? PROTESTS? CRIES? NO ONE LISTENS!

.........
All are to be blamed, no one among them is a saint.

Absolutely correct. There is plenty of blame to go around, for a multitude of failures. In some areas, the civilians are the criminals, in other areas it is the faujis.

The end result is that the nation and the state suffers.

The march should be on Constitution Avenue in Islamabad. Pakistanis must demand change from their own government and military. Hold them accountable. That is where it begins and that is what will bring out any change. Nowhere else.

The way things are going .......

Where is Leader ?

Come on guys post few pix of the Peace March...

IF the politicians cared the least bit... CIVILIANS would not have to march...Drone strikes would not have been allowed to begin with and if allowed would have been banned and each drone shot down....

You have to know by now that Pakistan IS FAR from the People's country...It is ruled by ruthless idiots who will even kill their wife for power if necessary, do tax fraud, kill oppositions or ANYONE in their way, Do everything that describes a thug!!

Most politicians and dictators are like that, not just in Pakistan. It is up to the people to demand accountability and keep them in line.

lo. i have had suggested one good alternative to marching: a series of sincere Education campaigns. let the people know the root cause of the drone strikes first. then let them come up with an optimum solution.
the much highlighted thing is that the marchers didnt even enter the real danger zone. well if this was the motive with which they meant to prove their valour, that's ridiculous then.
Pakistan is not short of political genius, it is short of political will. If only we had educated our masses, we could have achieved victory in this war we are not even ready to accept as our own.
nevertheless, the best protest to the drone strikes would be if our executives, judiciary and the civil-military bureaucrats are inline in saying NO to the US demands.
but that is not going to happen because Dollar speaks louder and hits harder than the idea of securing lives of the people, which is a secondary objective for the triad of rulers upon us. and since IK is not a ruler yet, i just assume he has nothing else in mind (other than protesting regularly) like contemporary wannabe politicians. remember, when you are in battlefield, you do require faith, but the inevitability of good weapons remains constant.
i still hope this effort ends in some good.
