Are you really reading the same news as posted by OP? As i have re-read the news and there is no mention of Indian Wildlife department crossing over to Bangladesh but they were at the border and wanted to cross over to take the elephant back but could not do that as elephant was already killed....so from where have you read that they have actually crossed the border?

In the past we sent Indian elephants to their respective authorities.

I dont know.. what were they doing, are they not first to be called to respond to wild animal?

We dont have any forest area from where this beast entered. And why we will sacrifice our assets for a ludicrous mad animal. We get elephant attacks from Meghalaya state and in the Chittagong region usually.

Lol. One must have forests to have forest department. Our forest dept is for BD animals. And concentrated around those areas. And when Indian guest animals will attack for that will waste our resources around the border. Seems logical.
