AMX International Aircraft

The AMX International AMX is a ground-attack aircraft for battlefield interdiction, close air support and reconnaissance missions. It is built by AMX International, an Italian-Brazilian joint venture, and is designated the A-1 by the Brazilian Air Force.

The AMX is capable of operating at high subsonic speed and low altitude, by day or night, and if necessary, from bases with poorly equipped or damaged runways.

Low IR signature and reduced radar equivalent cross-section help prevent detection, while low vulnerability of structure and systems aid survivability. Integrated ECM, air-to-air missiles and nose-mounted guns provide self-defence capabilities.

Nice pic's dude!

Could you please post also some specifications in detail and compare it to other aircrafts of the same league?

For PAF, this would've been much better than the A-5C...shame it is out of production, it had much more potential. Its last shot was the Venezuelan order of AMX-ATA, but that fell through for various reasons. Thinking aloud here, but if Pakistan is still looking for a committed CAS aircraft (but with good A2A & multi-role capacity), it could possibly talk to Embraer and Alenia-Aeronautica about developing a new fighter based on the AMX design.

What's wrong with upgrading the K-8 into a single- seater for this role?

It'd also require a strengthened airframe for heavier payloads/weapons, increased protection against fire, etc. I'd rather use the AMX as a basis as it was developed for this specific role, and still possesses good fighter/defensive capability.

these jets are more or less similar to JAGUAR fighter jets aren't they?

:what:

What makes you think that ?
The AMX is equipped with superior avionics, radar, ECM/EW...and alongside CAS/attack, it can also undertake proper strike missions using PGB/JDAM and LGBs. It was an overall better bang for the buck than A-5, and a higher performance aircraft (you can check the stats).

Pakistan badly needs something at par with the A-10 thunderbolt..
