What's new

Amir Khan (vs Paulie Malignaggi) shook Madison square garden!

. .
This is getting childish. I rather not continue this discussion anymore. Have fun.

Devastating victory by Khan, I'm a big fan of Paulie as he's got an arrogance and confidence which i admire in a fighter and the beating he took from Khan was comparable to the one he got from Cotto who wasn't able to stop the 'Magic Man'.

Khan's critics are silenced, inshallah he clears up 140lb division and takes on Maidana and Alexander, both fights will be absolutely cracking as Maidana is a big puncher and Alexander is a great all round boxing technician.

After all the bad press in the news about Pakistani's, i'm glad we have a gem in Amir who lights our name in the sporting world.

Inshallah Amir Khan will do well as he's great for British and Pakistani boxing.

That guy is a good fighter...probably the best around in his category.

But its hilarious to see Pakistanis getting all excited about him just because he's descended from Pakistani immigrants. One guy was excited just because Amir Khan was a guest at a domestic Pakistani domestic tournament! Seems like there's a real shortage of home grown heroes...

Yes same thing apply for Mittal remember and you guys say him NRI:hitwall:

Yup man.

Hey i was very much impressed with the aamir khan videos and i just admire this guy.
But got few doubts which i would like to be cleared by "you"
When i checked his details he is told as a 3rd generation Pakistani migrant British guy who has never visited pakistan in his life time.( maybe his grand parents).

I want to know whether he can be called a Pakistani since lots of Indians even in their life time (for example Manmohan and advani) has been born and brought up in Pakistan and moved to india.. same is the case for Musharaff saab too who was born here in India.

Would a mere saying of I am this nationality first makes u qualify to be called him as a person from that nation.

I would like the doubt cleared by you my friend , because i find you a lot more sensible than a lot of members here.

Thanks

So is Adam khan (Adam Khan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), who represents Pakistan in the A1 Grand Prix ,

Not that this is related to the topic, but Mittal is still an Indian citizen. Forbes.com says so and he has said it in numerous interviews.

Some Indian members should get over this childishness. Indians are no less enthusiastic when it comes to reclaiming heroes of Indian origin.
From Kalpana Chawla to Bobby Jindal, we have similar exultation in the Indian media when anyone remotely connected to India achieves anything.

And that reached its peak or ebb when Indians flooded Nobel winning scientist Venkatraman Ramakrishnan's email and he had to ask people to stop bothering him.
Venki Ramakrishnan miffed at emails from India - India - The Times of India

So let Pakistanis enjoy their moment of glory, whatever his citizenship may be.

Though I think Dr. Ramakrishnan put it best when he said - We are all human beings, and our nationality is simply an accident of birth.
