VCheng, this is a quite debatable topic but this is not the right place i guess.
the credibility of US claims of OBL involvement, in fact, holding him completely responsible for 9/11 is doubted in many US circles as well. Staying there i hope you are well aware of that too.
There are many things in the whole 9/11 episode people point fingers too and rightly so!
Leaving that aside, killing of a thousand US citizens in a terror attack being revenged by a full fledged war in a foreign country with 100000+ men involved?? No, revenge cannot be the only thing! there are more important things on agenda for sure!

Ermm, are you forgetting WHY USA was forced to go there in the first place? Remember September 11 and Osama Bin Laden's terror group?

What you apparently dont know - US never had any evidence Bin Laden was involved in 9/11, as confirmed by CIA spokesman few years ago, as well as by the fact US never released any facts about his responsibility.

Taliban actually offered Bin Laden for the 3rd party trial, but US had planned to attack Afghanistan all along, so they used Osama as an excuse to attack the country and refused to put him into trial.

About Osama's "confession" - he denied responsibility for years. US before the attack showed the tape with his "confession" - and it was fake. Whether another tape from '04 was fake or not is irrelevant since US already were bombing the country for years, so you cant use the excuse of attack of another country because "confession" may (or may not) show up someday. You need proof, and thats why US refused trial - because they have none even now.

Pipeline!................

I will take up the rest of the points later, but did you consider the logistics of an oil pipeline through the northern areas of Pakistan? As an exercise, please consider a pipeline project supplying 1 million barrels of oil per day (or even a few hundred thousands) over the 16,000 ft high Khunjerab Pass, through all months of the year, complete with pumping stations and servicing and security issues through an active earthquake zone (remember Attabad Lake?). Let's start with design, financing and construction, let alone reliable operation for years and years afterwards.

I just don't see that project being feasible, technically or financially.

Taliban offered OBL for a trial under specific conditions: that they would first examine the evidence and if acceptable, then hand him over to a 3rd party of their own choosing, not to USA. Both conditions were merely delaying tactics, nothing substantive.

only people who doubt anything about OBL are the ones wearing tin foil hats... doubting OBL was 100% involved with 911- is like (absurdity)someone saying Jinnah was a secret Jew. Now I leave it up to you and fellow tin hats to figure it out. and yes! you attack us on our land and we will take up yours and change the regime as a lesson.
