American Jewish advocacy group keen to work with Modi | The Indian Express

An influential American Jewish group has congratulated prime minister-designate Narendra Modi on his electoral victory and hoped that under his leadership, India’s ties with the US and Israel will strengthen further.

The American Jewish Committee (AJC) said it has engaged for years with successive Indian governments, regardless of party identity, on matters of common interest and concern.

“We look forward to working with Modi and the new government to further strengthen and deepen India’s extensive relations with the United States and Israel,” said Shira Loewenberg, director of AJC’s Asia Pacific Institute (API).

“BJP has long been a friend to Israel and the Jewish people,” Loewenberg said in a statement.

The group said it has worked closely with India’s vibrant Jewish community, numbering about 4,500 – including 150 from Modi’s home state of Gujarat.

AJC congratulated the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)- led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on its victory in India’s general elections.

An API delegation had met with Modi in 2012, when he served as chief minister of Gujarat.

Meanwhile, the Indian National Overseas Congress, US (INOC) congratulated Modi and the BJP on the election victory and expressed hope that the incoming BJP-led government would “continue to safeguard the democratic and secular fabric” of
the India and work towards unity and purpose where all its citizens are treated equally regardless of their caste.

The Congress party, which faced its worst electoral performance due to corruption and slow economic growth, would remain resilient and bounce back quickly, INOC chairman George Abraham said in a statement.

I had this feeling - After printing and pumping billions $$$ and assuring the local Indian elite of pouring hundreds of billions of printed money in the next decade or two - There is no way India can ignore that lucrative offer. Funny thing is that in the coming year India will see a lot of reputable law firms joining the party. Ordinary people like me will think economic development with very sound legal system. Of course, that is why we will see those law firms coming to the market. Very few will have the printed money button on them. They call the shots.

The day Amrikan/European technology lags behind other "real" players (not pumped up queens), the printed money economy will collapse and all the PHDs will go to waste probably?

Malay - sia should rethink about it....Well not exactly. Our jihadi brothers will make sure we don't rise.

NOTE: You will see in the coming year - Wal Mart etc will be able to operate without any previous conditions.

No one can stop Amrika as long Jewish dominated banskers are behind it. Add the Amrikan and European technological base to it.

I think India should take advantage and lift off its people from poverty and become another pumped up drama queen.

Schills.

Modi Keen To Deepen Ties With Israel: Netanyahu

Jerusalem, May 18, 2014 India's Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi has expressed his desire to "deepen and develop" ties with Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday. "On Friday, I spoke with the Prime Minister-elect of India. There too there is a clear expression of the desire to deepen and develop economic ties with the State of Israel," Mr. Netanyahu told his cabinet at its weekly meeting. Mr. Netanyahu, who is looking to strengthen economic ties with Asia which is likely to overtake the Jewish state's close ally United States as the largest export destination, has recently put a lot of emphasis on promoting bilateral trade with India, China, Japan and other Asian countries. Mr. Netanyahu did not lose any time in reaching out to Mr. Modi - all set to be India's next Prime Minister after BJP secured a landslide victory in the Lok Sabha polls - as part of his goal to benefit from untapped potential in the huge market there. Israel may have a "staunch new ally" in South Asia with India's election of Mr. Modi to the position of Prime Minister, New York-based International Business Times reported on Saturday amid speculation here that ascendance of BJP would also bring back the hype around India-Israel ties. The two countries have been negotiating a Free Trade Agreement for the last several years. While relations between India and Israel have deepened and diversified ever since diplomatic relations were established in 1992, the five years of BJP rule in the past gave a major impetus to the ties. Israel's Prime Minister Ariel Sharon visited India in 2003 and prominent BJP leaders - L.K. Advani and Jaswant Singh - had come to Israel to discuss cooperation in wide ranging fields. Israel's support to India during the Kargil war had helped build a relationship of trust which saw defence cooperation between the two countries registering a significant high.
