American billionaire investor Ray Dalio lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi as "one of the best leaders in the world".

In an interview, the founder of American investment management firm Bridgewater Associates, Dalio held discussions with the PM about mediation, the world and India.

In a tweet, Dalio called "PM Modi is one of the best, if not the best, leaders in the world" and credited him with uniting the entire country.

"What I’m most impressed about with Modi is how he has brought the country together by helping the full range of people, from those who are in abject poverty to rich business leaders," Dalio tweeted.

Dalio also praised the government's efforts to construct 100 million toilets, thereby reducing diseases and saving thousands of lives.

"He is doing that by providing both basics and cutting edge digital technologies as part of his mission for India’s direction. For example, his government built more than 100 million toilets which reduced diseases potentially saving approximately 300,000 lives by some estimates," he said.

The American businessman said that PM Modi, with his massive mandate, has the potential to bring about revolutionary changes.

"Those are big deals that are hard to find in other countries," he said.

A billion toilets ain't gonna do squat if you folks clean your fish dinner in them.

Better would be to question if this Billionare investor's statements have value, why and why not? Rather than just troll.

I know people here would be jumping up and down if it was Imran Khan's name here.

I assume your question was partly rhetorical. This windbag "philanthropist" is part of a "kiss magic yoga backside first, ask questions of substance later" phenomenon that has existed in US for decades. Even illiterate, foot-in-mouth verbal diarrhoea Indians like Modi cause such folks to drool. Let's face it, Bollywood and yoga are very magical and marketable, no matter what is actually going on in Bramin-land. Several economic indices have actually faltered in the last year in India. Projections on India's growth have not manifested as predicted. The currency fiasco caused more problems than it solved. The million or so latrine gimmick is just a misdirection from Modi to avert criticism over real issues.

Let's leave all the Kashmiri rights, downed jets and embarrassing denials, Dalit killings for defecating in the open, the lynchings, the rapes of women and all of India's social or political problems to the side and just look at the economy for the sake of this argument. It still ain't going all that great.

So yes, this philanthropist is kissing up for some reason or another - I don't know what exactly. Nothing special coming from these flamboyant American business types - they market their objectives well, bullsht even, just to get the attention of someone they want something off. I recall a much more well known American business mogul saying the right things and pushing the right buttons just to get gullible Huggy bear Modi's attention not long ago, before saying something else to IK.

But but Modi is destroying the Indian economy! India is isolated over Kashmir! Rahul Gandhi actually knows what is best for India!

India has many smart people, with a great vision.

But the execution is so bad.

imagine a country leader sitting there in conference and talking about toilets , this should be internal matter of supa pawa

Raymond Dalio may be a nice guy, but has toilet standards for finding the best leader in the world. Literally, toilet standards. What makes Modi so great?

Dalio also praised the government's efforts to construct 100 million toilets, thereby reducing diseases.

So the forum joke that India has a toilet, or a lack of toilet problem is very true, even according to billionaires. :enjoy:

You are trying your best hiding your true identity, Why won't you tell us Modi gee!!

But but Modi is destroying the Indian economy! India is isolated over Kashmir! Rahul Gandhi actually knows what is best for India!

No ifs and butts Raymond Dalio is obviously a person who is clueless ; His tweets came on the same day that ratings agency Moody’s downgraded India’s rating outlook from ‘stable’ to ‘negative,’ citing risks to economic growth partly due to lower government and policy effectiveness.

Then Raymond Dalio goes on to say;

“I am getting a lot of questions about this post, mostly about geopolitics. I want to make clear that I’m not commenting on his geopolitical policies as I’m not knowledgeable enough to comment on them,” the founder of Bridgewater Associates said.

That's called firing from both ends, he should have done his homework before making comments about modi uniting the nation, the Bill gates foundation has given INDIA over $2 billion us dollars for toilets how exactly is that achievement of modi. What kind of hedge fund this guy is running that he doesn't have a clue about things he is commenting about..
