Actually we hardly import anything from the US other than defense items which is why trade surplus is in Pakistan's favor and more so since China and US are engaged in a trade war. One benefit of ruppee losing value to dollar is that Pakistan's exports can get a huge push.
Actually, it is US purchases of Pakistan's exports that help its balance of payments, and it is Pakistan's import of Chinese goods that affect it adversely. USA supports Pakistan's exports far more than any other country. With the recent push by PMIK to boost Pakistan's exports, USA is a far more lucrative market than any other country. The US-China trade war does not play into this equation at all. Pakistan should watch out for its own national interests.
