What's new

America never committed to training Afghan forces. I know because I tried.

And at a theoritical level if US barked today Pakistan's options are about the same. We have same nukes. Our military power is about same Our economy is probably worse. Our international friends such as they are would have been same and stood about as firm as they would do today.

Are you suggesting Pakistan would do the same 'sell; again today?

Strawman tactics don't impress me. Get to the fcukin points I raised.

Total BS post---. Our military was zilch at that time---.

Neither does it need testicle polishers like you. By the way Turkey refused USA any asistence when it was raging to attack Iraq. And it has no nukes.

Turkey is not in the same position as us---technically---tactically---.

@Brass Knuckles @Indus Pakistan
for sure someone could have done better deal than him.. but we could only delay the collation support but eventually had to enter.. I think better route was side US and also complain from the beginning (since 2001-02) from the 3rd party like media or opposition parties... but everyone was sold out. So govt was on US side and media cd be all against US atrocities and hide also under freedom of speech so Gvt cannot take action against them. Like western countries do when Mushi or NS start speech some random balcohi stand up and start shouting... overall it wd be '' galat tu vi nai tey thek oo vi kenda jey''

For several months in the spring of 2009, Sboor and I walked nearly all the major passes along the Durand Line between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Konar province in search of the infiltration routes of fighters coming from Pakistan. Although we didn’t find many foreign fighters crossing from Pakistan to join the fight, we noticed the region was awash in illegal timber smuggling. The smuggling gave us an idea of where Pakistani forces turned a blind eye both to timber and incoming fighters.

They failed because they operate and plan everything based on confirmation bias. Their conclusion is that Pakistan is somehow a staging ground for streams of Taliban fighters and they waste all their time and resources trying to support that conclusion.

It will be a cold day in hell when they acknowledge that Taliban fighters are locals training and fighting near their homes and that the Afghan govt is incompetent and useless in every single aspect.

If you want to understand American options vis a Musharraf... you've to understand what U.S. objectives were and how much did they expect Pakistanis to cave... well guess what Musharraf never disappointed, on every single level he bent over backwards to appease and always presented his lords with offerings, whom it was later found in eagerness people were just rounded up to make number irrespective of their culpability... these are just bottom of the rung things he had in effect unilaterally impinged and reneged Pakistani sovereignty which I think any elected government would have been hard pressed to sway on... this same modus operandi hurt Pakistani objectives in Kashmir, where he allowed LOC to be fenced where it's own military had lost many lives stoping Indians from making it a defacto border... which, more or less, it is today! Rear view is 20/20 and all these thing fit like a glove... Indians were doing everything they wanted step by step and Pakistanis were haphazard... So after all that irrespective of what transpired in February, Pakistan finds itself on a back foot. Primarily due to the doings of it's own leadership.

Hi

actually it is the pakistani public that deceived pakistan.

took them almost 12 years to realize who the enemy was.

that is what happens when the citizens are identity less and dont respect their nation.

if pakistanis had stood together against the terrorists and made pakistan first rather than muslim brotherhood, we would have seen better results.

And today we would not be blaming Gen Musharaff.

hi

the report that came out in the US say different about Gen Musharrraf.

Those who dont bend in heavy weather—-those trees are uprooted.

After bending backward when Mush straightened up—-the momentum carried him forward where he hit them very hard. And that is what the americans are crying about and it reflects on the verdict as well

yeah i think it would've been pretty cool if we had nawaz/zardari/benazir as head of state back then too. maybe they all could've badmouthed the army together and invited the US to bring down the democracy - MOAB style...that would've been real nice right?
well we had in 2008-2018..instead of single drone attacks we had several thousands..but civilian still do better because that the civilians wont criticize them as criticizing them is criticizing your self..hence when a single drone strike that killed 40 people in mushi era destroyed him, several 1000s in zardari era and nawaz era didnt even made the 6 oclock news

.
drone attacks decline in pmln govt when raheel sharif did operations in north waziristan and tribal areas and cleared them and cpec was started as we move towards china instead of taking aid from u.s which compromised our sovereignty as in musharaf and ppp tenure when drone attacks were common

still just in 2014 januaury there were more drone strike than entire 4 years of mushi era..get my point..and it didnt made even 6 oclcok news

musharaf also claimed many drone attacks by u.s as done by our own forces and if you listen his speech of 3 nov emergency he acknowledged that whole nation and Islamabad has gone in hands of terrorist and attacks and suicide bombing are occurring everyday as well as armed forces morale is low which showed he had failed to improve security conditions of Pakistan and when you deliver country in such condition it will encourage u.s to do drone attacks as they have excuse of safe heavens of terrorists
