Pakistan is now 3rd Biggest growing market on amazon's global seller. Thousands of sellers from Pakistan joined the Amazon marketplace just one year after Amazon added Pakistan to its sellers list. Pakistan now has more sellers than from India, Vietnam, the United Kingdom, or Canada.

Amazon added Pakistan to the countries allowed to sell on its marketplace in May 2021. Talks between Amazon, Pakistan’s Ministry of Commerce, and the National e-Commerce Council began in 2020. A year after Pakistan’s first e-commerce policy included adding Pakistan to Amazon’s list.

Pakistan is currently the No. 3 top country among new sellers that joined Amazon’s marketplace in the U.S. in 2022. The U.S. and China top the list. The thousands of Pakistani sellers dwarf in comparison to the two largest locations, but that’s more than the rest of the countries in the world, including export hubs like India and neighboring countries like Canada.

Rank Seller Country:

1 United States
2 China
3 Pakistan
4 United Kingdom
5 Turkey
6 Canada
7 Vietnam
8 India
9 Brazil
10 Japan

Eventually, those sellers will contribute to the $23 billion in Pakistan exports. For example, cotton textile production and apparel manufacturing are Pakistan’s largest industries. However, many of the sellers that joined so far appear to be drop shipping from manufacturers in the U.S. If they succeed, like early merchants from China did, local industry will develop even more to get the next businesses onto the marketplace.

In just a period of one year, thousands of merchants from Pakistan have registered on Amazon, as a result of which our country has retained its third position in the category of new sellers on the biggest e-commerce platform.

Officials of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) gave a briefing to the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Commerce. During the briefing, the TDAP expressed confidence about the country’s export products, the country’s capacity and the capabilities of the people associated with the e-commerce platform.

He expressed hope that the entrepreneurs who sell goods on Amazon will be able to continue the journey of improvement in the future by benefiting from this journey of rapid development.

In a briefing to the members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly headed by Chairman Raza Rabbani, the TDAP said that, Pakistan will be the third largest country in the sale of products through the Amazon market in the United States at the end of this year.

The thousands of Pakistani sellers are trying to give competition to the sellers worldwide. While USA and China top the list, we still have export hubs like India and Canada, which is a remarkable accomplishment.

Pakistan was allowed to sell products on Amazon in May 2021 after almost a year of negotiations between the Ministry of Commerce and Amazon officials and thousands of merchants from Pakistan were registered with Amazon in just a short period of one year.
