Last point on this to clear the air, I have nothing against ISI and I feel that they have protected our country however them being involved in politics spoils the purpose of democracy and the sir Batmannow says that it is democrazy but that is because the ISI gets too involved which is simply very wrong.
I agree with you and batmannow both here...call that an odd stand...
the reason is simple enough though...
When batmannow criticizes democracy he is actually criticizing the politicians, who have never done their duty and hide behind dictatorship (which they support) and petty excuses to cover the absolute neglect of their duties and oaths.
They do not have democracy in their own parties and are quite the core of our most vile and corrupt segment of society...no one comes close other than TTP i guess...
I dare say that even if a single government takes sincere actions for even 1 year, they would never have any cause to complain of a lack of support from the people...the fact that they always rob and pillage in the name of democracy is the reason that the masses never oppose any dictator...who is quite frankly seen as someone who at least kicks the butt of the thieves and robbers...this is the reason there has never been a civil unrest when a coup happens...
It will continue to be a problem till addressed otherwise by the politicians...the solution is fairly simple...sincerity in thought and action!
On the other hand you are unhappy with an out of norm activity by ISI, i agree that there should not be a state where ISI should meddle in petty politics, however what is reported to us and what actually happens is a different game and with intelligence agencies the truth sometimes can never be revealed.
Still you have to understand that post Zia era was very difficult transition and BB was extremely notorious and she proved it in the end by doing things against the security of Pakistan...
Currently the Army has been revamped by a very energetic commander in chief and ISI has been reorganized after careful thought process and a clear higher vision which is above petty politics...the lack of meddling by ISI despite the extremely pathetic administration of this current regime clearly indicates that something indeed has changed.
From now on the onus lies on us to make sure this does not make our leaders more carefree in their looting spree...we are the first line of defense now, it seems...
Let us hope for the best in the days to come...
