Sector H-9 was in the spotlight on Friday after rumours spread that some people had written slogans in support of self-styled Islamic State (IS).

According to police sources, the slogans were written on the wall of an educational institution located near Excise and Taxation Office.

An official of Industrial Area police station, requesting anonymity, said people had contacted the police station, asking about slogans written in favour of the IS.

“At around 8pm an Anti-Terrorist Squad official came to the police station and asked about the wall-chalking,” he added.

However SHO Fayaz Shinwari told Dawn: “No one came to my office to inquire after the IS wall chalking nor am I aware of any one writing slogans in support of IS in the limits of Industrial Area police station.”

There are slogans everywhere in Karachi in support of the TTP. There are also flags fluttering across the city of the Lashkar E Jhangvi. This is what I call misplaced priorities. Currently ISIS presents the least threat to Pakistan. The real threat is the Taliban, Jundullah, Lashkar E Jhangvi and Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan. These groups have in the past attacked Pakistani interests and they continue to do so.

Any nation including the US seeks to neutralize the enemy that has harmed it most. Look at the Americans. Their real target was Al Qaeda, their secondary priority was the Taliban and they are on the verge of making a peace deal with them. But they have done everything to weaken the Al Qaeda. They infiltrated deep in our territory to get Bin Laden.

We should take a page from them and do everything we can to assassinate Fazlullah and other takfiri terrorists. The Taliban should our first priority. To hell with the Haqqanis, Hekmatyar's, Gul Bahadurs and the Lashkar E Toiba and Hizbul Mujahideen. Leave them but use every tool or weapon at your disposal to destroy the Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan or the TTP.

IS wall chalking removed in Islamabad

A wall chalking in favour of the self-styled Islamic State (IS) was removed in the city on Saturday.
The police have decided to increase patrolling to stop wall chalking in the capital.
Rumours spread on Friday that some people had written slogans in favour of IS on the wall of an educational institute near the excise and taxation office at H-9.

The government has been claiming that IS did not exist in the country, but slogans in favour of IS were witnessed in different areas of the country. However, it was the first time that such a slogan was written in the federal capital.
On the other hand, IS has announced to spread its roots in different countries, including Iran, Afghanistan, India and Pakistan. Earlier, wall chalking was witnessed in Peshawar, tribal areas and Karachi.
Station House Officer (SHO) Industrial Area Fayaz Shinwari told Dawn that there were rumours that wall chalking was done in different areas of the city such as I-9, I-10 and H-9.Slogans were only found on the wall of an educational institute in Sector H-9 which was painted on Saturday.

I meant in all simplicity that we target militant groups that are against the fabric of the Pakistani state first, that are attacking our citizens not those which are engaged in Afghanistan. They are clearly a target as well but we need to choose our priorities. Are we going to kill the vulture that stalks me first or am I going to protect my neighbor first? I think we need to make the TTP's life miserable and hunt down its members whereever we find them.

Yes. Only after we have destroyed the LEJ and TTP which are attacking Pakistan should we concentrate on hizb and let. They are threats too but the primary threat are the Taliban, Jundullah, IMU, and LEJ
