All US troops to leave Afghanistan by September 11, 2021

September 11 ???

wow
Yes,a rather interesting coincidence,isnt it?.Possibly symbolic of something......? ;)
Perhaps the occupation will formally end at the same exact time as the september 11th attacks began, who knows?

.
This is precisely what they want to happen. USA wants the deal to fall through.

9/11/21...I would have expected such theatrics from Trump more than Biden. What gimmicky nonsense.
I imagine that the chumpanzee-in-chief would`ve no doubt done something completely idiotic along the lines of pres jrs "Mission Accomplished" farce. The rednex, proud bois, and other like minded 💩 "good people"💩 would`ve lapped it up.:sarcastic:

Like I said, Biden only delayed due to politics. All indications showed he'd leave Afghanistan before the end of the year.

Even him ignoring Pakistan is a huge indication that the US no longer considers Afghanistan war worth fighting, and as such no longer need Pakistan post 2021. Ignoring Pakistan, of course, is gonna bite them in the *** in the future, because US think tanks and presidential advisers tend to be morons with bricks for brains. I keep repeating it, but it's worth repeating, these US think tanks and presidential advisers get their history right, but learn the wrong lessons from it.

.
Well just hope U.S. will be able to stand by India as promised

. .
And if the withdrawal indeed happens?

The only thing the US cares about at this point is Afghanistan becoming a haven for terrorists like Al-Qaeda and other such groups. But you don't need troops permanently based in Afghanistan for CT ops. Using the military to fight terrorism is like using a sledgehammer to swat a fly. Regardless, it's in the interests of the regional players to keep the region free of terrorism.

.
afghans will find another goat to milk . taliban cant live without jihad . afghans other hands can not live without aid . over all war is life line for afghan . peace means both terrorists afghan gov and even civilians have to work hard and earn bread and butter .

There is much truth to what you are saying. I think Afghanistan has come a LONG ways since 2001 but has it come far enough to be even semi-responsible for its own act. When they did ever have even a semblance of prosperity? I remember after 9/11, a so-called Afghan govt official Harun Amin was on American channel blaming Pakistan for all the problems with Afghanistan and the guy was boasting about Afghanistan so good and prosperous under Zahir Shah. Well, idiot, even under Zahir Shah most of Afghan cities infra was worse than a B-Grade Pakistani city like Hyderabad and whatever sheen there was in Afghanistan was because of purposeful, limited direct Lipstick-on-Pig by the Soviets or other powers.

Coming back to the topic: This was expected--I mean a delayed withdrawal of the American troops from Afghanistan. May 1 is too soon and the chatter on the web has been about giving more time for some dignified and orderly withdrawal--and hence that's what is being announced. Don't ignore the word like this withdrawal is NOT based on 'conditions'! That is the key!

.
All over the American news. Formal announcement will be made tomorrow. Sounds to me the goal post will be moved, Biden will probably say Al Qaeda was defeated, we won....time to go home. He will probably skip over the nation building and Taliban quagmire over the last 10 or so years.

USA think tank establishment must be in shock. Just a few days ago I was watching a conference on Afghanistan. They were rehashing their old fight forever get tough on Pakistan rhetoric that has kept the USA in this mess. Biden made a bold move largely going against the foreign policy experts.

Spoilers will work hard to stop any peace unfortunately. Too many factions have prospered from the continuation of this war. Black Ops plots will no doubt go into effect. All actors must be cautious, IMO.

.
Don't fall for this folks. Who has seen September 2021. Regional actors should work together and continue to thwart US hegemony.

All US troops to leave Afghanistan by September 11, 2021

Patently false headline.

First, the keyword used was: US Combat Troops

This says nothing of JSOC, or "training and support" missions, or private security contractors who are more numerous than US troops, among many others.
US will likely maintain a light footprint in the region. How that comes about remains to be seen.

We are heading towards a full blown civil war in Afghanistan with major spillover to Pakistan. A lot of US military hardware will be in hands of these contractors controlling ISIS and other groups.

Only an ABSOLUTE IDIOT would believe the US. But then we have Pakistan generals doing this for many decades; eating onions and then also getting lashes on their arses for decades.

. .
He said this last time. US was to leave in 2014....

I won't hold my breath.

Keeping in mind, what the US media really is, a propaganda machine for their agendas. This news should definitely be taken with a bucket of salt.

Afghanistan is vital to American interests in the region. Nestled nicely in between major countries, countries which allow the Americans to pursue several different paths. Iran and China being at the top of their list. With Pakistan (a Muslim nuclear power) coming in below. Presence in Afghanistan even under extremely hostile conditions may be favourable to no presence at all.

One important point we must not forget; there was no reason they couldn’t leave in May. They really are asking for a few more months as if they couldn’t manage their logistics... ha ha very funny... . If they really wanted to leave they could have left by the original dead line. But instead they are buying for time. They are not happy with the conditions of the handover. And that is bad news for Pakistan.

Lets be fair here, leaving under current conditions means a major defeat to the Americans. Has Pakistan, Iran and China really made it that difficult for them like NVA did in Vietnam, possible but very surprising to me.

Regardless of that, keeping the American policy towards China, Iran and Arab world in mind. And that they could have left by the original deadline if that’s what their deep state had decided. And their media being a well developed piece of warfare and policy. And the current conditions of the handover so very against their policies in the region. Not being sceptical would be foolish to say the least.

Americans asking for time could mean that they are not leaving until conditions become more favourable. It means less on the plate for Pakistan and other countries in the region.

So to me it seems that unless Pakistan gives in (and other regional players -minus India- also give up some of the gains), the withdrawal may not come so easy. So the Americans postponing till September is akin to paying the minimum payment on your credit card. Where the minimum payment doesn’t get rid of the huge debt and the mountain of interest on top of you.

I so wish this to be true. Only time will tell.
