As per reports, Pakistan is soon going to be a water deficient country due to paucity of infrastructure and mismanagement of its water resources. Thus.....

The millions of gallons of water used in fracking operations not only strain water resources, but end up as vast amounts of contaminated wastewater. Fracking has been reported as a suspect in polluted drinking water around the country. And methane -- a potent climate change pollutant -- leaks rampantly throughout the extraction, processing, and distribution of oil and gas.

So, is extraction of shale gas a good idea where Pakistan is concerned?

Your countrymen should demand something like RTI(right to information act) or an organization something like CAG we have in India which work independent of government ,it will surely help curbing corruption in Pakistan

shale gas will not be economical under low oil prices. we need technology and investment which is not going to happen

tried that in national accountability bureau and election commission, but those thieves appoint their person as a head, even if we get RTI its will be headed by a man chosen by thieves. the only solution I see is for people to rise up and hang them in public with none of their family members surviving.

someone is responsible for implementing any law, in RTI's case its the communication dept of the govt and someone heads that dept

Not really.... Due to the slump in the prices majority of the service companies have reduced their costs for stimulation and completions (perfs, acid jobs, and fracing etc.). A lot of the equipment is sitting idle. This is the BEST time for Pakistan to invest in horizontal multi-stage frac wells for shale oil/gas.... because there will be a lot of service companies willing to run operations even in such remoter places like Pakistan.

Easiest accessible shale oil costs USD 60. Harder ones to drill like in Pakistan will cost USD 600 per barrel.
