What's new

Alibaba CEO Jack Ma on Israel

I do not understand why invasion can be called selfdefense for Israel, does territory still has the same meaning as before!
No one dare to enter CHINA territory with their jet fighters like Israel did to Syria!
IF India attacked CHINA tibet air force base and calls it self-defense,CHINA will fight back with more strenght immediately!!!

Israel is not China's best friend, we just have business relation as we have with India, Pakistan is China all weather friend that's unchanged.
And the only true AWP!

Palestine isn’t just desert dude... the Palestinians have been farming there for thousands of years...

The only thing impressive is Chinese technique of reclaiming desert land in Gobi.

Saw a video where some “engineered” soio was mixed with sand by Chinese scientists and they grow plants in the middle of a fukin desert.

I myself being an agriculturist find it amazing .. and wished same tech could be applied in desert regions of Pakistan..

Only problem? It costs too much .. 4500 $ per acre... too much for small farmers..
Agricultural professors in China utilised some kind of bacteria to render land reclaimed from the ocean fertile. Since the 1980's 20,000 square km of alkali soil were turned fertile in the Northern Plains through pumping out salt water in the water table but this method won't work near the ocean.

@11:00 , @13:10 Shandong. After 30 years agriculturalists finally found a way to turn alkali soil near the oceans fertile. They breed a bacteria that will eventually form a barrier between the salt water and the soil above through it metabolising. This will be used to reform 130,000 square km of alkali soil around China.

China doesn't have much choice but to find ways to grow food in inhospitable places. It has potential land but a lot of it is desert. In some ways China and Pakistan has similar geographic layout, densely populated fertile plains surrounded by highlands and desert. Agriculture and geographic augmentation are areas both nations can share experiences.

For all the pragmatism, the Chinese shall never forget what the likes of Sassoon have done to China.

And particularly who stood behind Sassoon.
Most Chinese don't even Know. Just like most Hong Kong people never heard of the six days war with UK and local hk villagers

I would love to get in touch with these people ... and try this or other affordable agri tech .. alas

Pakistani absolute silence about their best friend being best friend of their so called worst enemy..Pakistani politics are a dilemma and liability for the nation itself..

It's just another form of bribery. They see Jack Ma as a possible tool of influence. Israel is looking for another benefactor.

I am talking from typical Pakistani mindset..
With absurd statements like that you are expressing your individual mindset only. Who China choses to embrace or comes into interaction with has never concerned Pakistan.

Is it necessary though? With the advent of vertical farming, you can theoretically build a skyscraper solely for agricultural purpose if it makes economical sense. Land as a factor in agriculture is diminishing as technology improves rapidly.

That is veggies and overall capital intensive, its more suitable for dense urban areas. Not all crops are suitable to be vertically farmed, at least so far. Vertical farming is also used but for other crops. China also wants add economic incentives to land reclamation, one can consider it a strategic industry to maintain. Land reclamation supports certain heavy industries, bio-science, civil engineering, etc. Some of the funds for land reclamation is borrowed from IMF and other international sources, making this process profitable will expedite any projects.

What is the cost ? As far as i know, this vertical farming is high income with high cost!!!
Can you grow rice with this so called skyscraper farming??? I think it is more suitabl for vegetable and fruits farming? NO?!!

With the new developped rice seed, rice farming can be developped in certain salted lands!

Rice farming in salted paddy fields is not a new invention. At present, the most important research and development point in China is to increase the unit rice output of salt paddy fields!

At present, China’s most significant technological breakthrough is that the rice paddies can be directly irrigated with salty water containing 6‰ of salt, and the rice production can be increased to a large amount of 620.95 kilograms per mu, which exceeds the maximum yield of “sea rice” that is known in the world. ”

You shall tagged The Solomon. The great Pakistan / Israel advocate.

Well yeah, but you can free up the land originally used for veggies. Moreover you can farm in the building even in the winter. Considering China's population is going to peak soon, I think vertical farming will be able to free enough land for other crops.

I agree it may be capital intensive though.

How much does improving the alkali soil cost?

Wow Mahathir looks surprisingly young in that photo. He's 93 this year and he's still campaigned for Malaysia's election today.

Not exactly. If you read the first article, it only cost 10% higher for consumers.

Why we become so possessive when it comes to the relationship of a sovereign country with another (illegitimate) country? in a way, we try to punish a country who we consider to be our friend and try to dictate our terms to that country for the formulation of that country's foreign relations with other countries and nations. we, the people from the subcontinent can never get rid of typical "SAAS-BAHU" (Mother in law-Daughter in law) mindset and i wonder why Jack Ma (a self made man) is being taken as a face of the official Chinese policy towards Israel? Jack Ma is in Tel Aviv University on their invitation and one would say soothing words out of courtesy when you are someone's guest, moreover, as a knowledge based business Ali baba must try to capitalize on the best available brains in the world for the expansion of its business and there is not even an Iota of doubt that Israelis are a super power when it comes to innovation, technology and integration as a nation on mutual national interest and survivabilty. so all i can see about his speech is he did exactly what he was supposed to do.
