Each battery is able to track 64 targets and simultaneously attack any 12 of those targets at one time. Akash is fully mobile and capable of protecting a moving convoy of vehicles.

Akash has thrust during the entire course of its flight which differentiates from Patriot and other SAMs thus improving its accuracy.

Indian Air Force has ordered 8 squadrons of Akash (around 750 missiles). Indian Army has also ordered several squadrons (unknown at the moment)
