0.5 mil to 1 mil people died in Rwandan genocide and human remains are still found everywhere. No more then 150000 died from both sides but Bengalis for purpose of victimhood have done such gross exaggeration.

There are many threads, in which this issue has been deliberated upon. This figure, if I am not mistaken, has been varying from 150,000 to 3 Million, having a multiplying factor of 20. The fact of the case is that most of these figures have no basis, whatsoever. The higher figures are fundamentally propaganda figures, used at that time by India and AL, for political purposes.

If u take a look at the number of population of east Pak before the war, then consider the population growth rate and then compare it with the population of BD after the war u'll see that it has a shortage of almost 3/4 million people.

Now even if u consider the refugees who didn't return and those who died in the war after feminine u'll see that the population was 3/4 million lesser than what it should've been.

It gets quite clear from this fact that among those no less than 1.5 million were killed by Pak army.

I generally refrain from entering into cross argument on PDF. I am not going to do that even now. I am responding, since you quoted me.

I am myself an Infrastructure Engineer and have been professionally involved in making population estimates. The method, you are proposing, is extremely erroneous for the purpose and can be manipulated to achieve any desired result.

My opinion is same as already expressed that it is now almost impossible to arrive at a reasonably correct figure for the casualties during 1971 incidence.

It is better that you stick to your narrative and let Pakistanis to their's. We can't possibly settle it here.

I earnestly wish progress for BD and prosperity for the people of BD, who were and are dear to me, in spite of all, what happened, which should not have.

So, on what basis the 1.5 million killed conclusion was made? In the case of Vietnam, they fought a long 30 years of war and were annihilated by all sorts of weapons, even by the Napalm bombs. Yet, the death figure is about 1 million.

This has been concluded after thorough investigations. Names of all those killed are recorded in the govt documents. When a new skeleton/bone is found there its forensic and DNA tests are done to identify from the pool of DNA data. Only after a thorough investigation, the name is included in the list of deads. All the bone samples are conserved in a dedicated museum.
