Airforce Experience : Appointed to fix PIA

The Old Dinosaur in PIA won't let a business executive succeed , they will be ready to backstab that guy at any given chance. That is what Corporate politics does it ruins the organisation if wrong type of people are hired

At least with Airforce these people are scared a bit as they know Airforce guy means business
The draw back really is the airforce guy does not have experience to expand the business

However for PIA the issue is corruption and open skies

Planes are normally full provided other airlines are not given Open Access to every thing on platter

i think if army can do everything then no need of C.A,CFA, Phd economics and MBA in Pakistan and people are wasting their time by studying economics, finance,accounting,management,marketing and auditing as army personnel who not have any such studies can manage and control businesses.Tell me how many thunders we exported in last 30yrs from beginning of this project

You fail to understand that the army is the largest public sector organization in Pakistan and a general in part plays the role of CEO for a part of this organization. Especially if they gain experience in logistics.

There could be an argument made that the army doesn't make money. But in the case of Pak Army, they figured very soon that the politicians will starve them, so the army actually has money making enterprises - for better or worse, right or wrong. In case of Arshad Malik, he has the experience of money making Thunders.

Here is what I am looking forward to. In cooperation with China or Russia, PIA now starts local production of a commercial aircraft. Imagine the possibilities. Wish him good luck. May Allah Help him make the right decisions for Islam, Muslims, and Pakistan. Aameen.

He is the chief. He will use all these civilians to turn fortunes around. The army also employs civilian doctors, IT specialists etc. He is the administrator.

But I think at this point you are arguing to save face. No point in discussion.

he wont be able to much. he cant change the culture and traditions of haram khori in PIA. i dont say that the armed forces are perfect but they still have some structure in organization and culture of doing at least some work. civil institutes are beyond repair.

As per the rumours on twitter, Asma Bajwa a British passport holder, (who also happens to be the sister in law of COAS Gen. Qamar Bajwa), was appointed as head of HR in PIA.

I guess not just the armed forces officers, but also their extended family have the military discipline and administrative capabilities ingrained in them.
