Airbus: We have sealed an historic order with IranAir for 100 jets

look like the truth was unveiled .... our Government bought those 3-4 Airbus in cash and there is no foreign Finance ....

third word is place that a government make useless deal to fool people and wining elections ....

Every second is important in this industry . as our friends said earlier it connected to other sectors too

NO one is going to pay that much money at first place to get these airplanes ( expect some of our arab cousins :azn: )
If we or our government could pay like that our rails , roads, airports ... or airlines was not in the shape like this .
Lets go back to airlines and specially the one you complaining about "Iran air" . like any other company Iran air have board members and they decide whats best for company's future . about 51% of Iran air's shares belongs to our government this means in every purchase as 50% share holder they must pay 50% the rest belongs to people so as investors they paying other half of expenses ( for possible future value ). these deals are financing by banks or investment groups ( backed or guaranteed by their governments and ours ) . at first while they reciving the aircraft company like Iran air pay only a little percentage of total value of airplane and after few years Iran air must pay for all of it .(how much time ? depends on the deal ) . so in short term they pay for their expenses while they earning money !

I dont see a plan to build domestic widebody aircrafts (like B777 A330 A340 A350) in near future . so there is no worry :)

I don't like the deal because it's stupidity of our governors. hundreds of planes? why? for who?

How many Iranian citizens are using those planes? This government :sarcastic: has no difference with our Arab cousins. They are importing, Arabs are importing too. Recklessly, tell me, how can you blame Arabs for their dependence on US-western industries?

I guess the mod would close this one too, saying it's a very old thread. :suicide:

Jet fuel and their man power expenses are biggest worries of airlines .our airlines losing a lot of money on efficiency bc they using older generation airplanes . still fuel is very cheap in Iran so they still can manage but with rising Oil prices its very big problem for them since they must refuel outside Iran . that means losing market to others ... so getting new airplanes is the bets option .
our middle class can use air travel since its very cheap in Iran ( low fuel prices ) , sometimes (very rare) you can get 10$ tickets for airplanes :) ( 35000 toman I saw it few days ago Kish-Tehran charter )
its possible to find under 100.000 toman tickets for domestic flights (under 30$) more often
can u show me cheaper option than this ? walking ? bus ? or maachi :o: ?
its not that rare to find under 30$ tickets for domestic flights so sometimes its even cheaper than trains !

our roads are not safe that much we have too many accidents on roads so cheapest option (bus) is not even an option for many families . the next one is train and with today prices train tickets are not far from airplane tickets .

@mohammad45
Lets take look at national airlines of these 3 countries and then compare them to IranAir : Egypt Vietnam and Thailand

I picked these three countries for their:
1. Population ( 70-95 mil )
2. Economy ( they are at same level or little bit lower than Iran's economy )

Iran :
Population 81,000,000
GDP( PPP ) per capita $19,050 and GDP( nominal ) $5,383
National airline : IranAir
Fleet Size: 47
Average Fleet Age : 21.8
Number of wide-body or long haul airplanes (A330 A340 A350 A380 B 777 B 787 B 747 ) :
(9 A300 - 2 A330 - 1 B 747 ) 12

Vietnam
:
Population 94,569,072
GDP( PPP ) per capita $6,925 and GDP( nominal ) $2,305
National airline: Vietnam Airlines
Fleet Size: 86
Average Fleet Age : 5.9 years
Number of wide-body or long haul airplanes :( 5 A330 - 9 A350 - 11 B 787 ) 25

Egypt :
Population 94,798,827
GDP( PPP ) per capita $12,560 and GDP( nominal ) $4,500
National airline: EgyptAir
Fleet Size: 56 aircraft
Average Fleet Age : 9 years
Number of wide-body or long haul airplanes : ( 10 A330 - 9 B 777 ) 19

Thailand
Population 68,863,514
GDP( PPP ) per capita $17,750 and GDP( nominal ) $6,265
Airline: Thai Airways International
Fleet Size:80
Average Fleet Age : 9.4
Number of wide-body or long haul airplanes : ( 15 A330 - 7 A350 - 6 A380 - 10 B 747 - 32 B 777 - 8 B 787 ) 78

As you can see our population is little bit higher than Thailand and our economy is somehow close to Thailand's economy . In next 10 years our economy will grow 50% and our population will reach to 100 million . right now our airlines enjoying lower fuel prices so they can easily manage to get more airplanes . in my opinion in 2027 we need more than 200 wide-body airplanes  .

Edit :
Thanks to good guys at Wikipedia and https://www.planespotters.net

Then Pin Gu, you'll need one like that :

Thailand lives on tourism and knows it.
If we see tourism rising in Iran due to
the nuclear deal loosening restrictions,
most of these new planes will serve its
needs versus those of the population as
it does even in Thailand ... & elsewhere.

Have a great day, Tay.

@pin gu I don't receive alarm after your tags mate. But for dear Tay and Pingu

Thailand has nice bi**hes, oh sorry nice beaches.

Obviously we will not have that kind of tourism in our country which is found in Turkey, Thailand, France, even Egypt. These countries have allowed prostitution under pretext of tourism lol. Spare us buddy, and without allowing that kind of tourism, this industry wouldn't have a huge progress honestly

Iran can produce better than Iran-140, Airbus wasn't the best from the first days of it's birth surely they had failed too. In the way of being n independent producer of planes, one has to bear it's problems.

We were close to produce heavy turbofan engines, until this disabled government was chosen and cut the budgets of internal plans. BTW, this is not a good deal, billions of dollars for prostitution industry, i would like to say, TO DEEP HELL with tourism

I'm not sure that even with the striking societal differences
which can't be denied, tourism should be ruled out, mate!

We are talking Persia here, a half bright half educated Euro
kid has seen the blue mosque of Isfahan in pictures at least.
Folks will come for Iranian Cheetahs and its environment.

Seriously, check the split in types and you'll see that about
half, the 320s are for the internal market. 12 and 15 K Kms
as in thousands aren't ranges to service an area like Iran.

You are very right that they won't be the same tourists that
visit Thailand on average though ;)

do you know IranAir forced to reduce/cancel some its flights to south korea , Japan , Australia , Brazil , China , some EU and african countries due to lack of aircraft ?
there is a huge demand but there is no airplane :) . so will our people decide to not go to their desired places ? mostly nope , they will use dubai , doha and istanbul and use their airports as a hub then they will go to their desired places at the end its a market our lost , their gain

Ir-140 is comparable to ATR-72 and in best case scenario we could use them to travel to Iraq , Afghanistan , Pakistan , Turkmenistan , Qatar , UAE , Bahrain and Turkey ( from some of our airports , for example you couldn't use Ir-140 in Mashhad-Istanbul flight ) IF our government could get approval for Ir-140 . its was a big if based on an-140 accidents history.
Ir-140 had engine problems and we have had more than enough time to fix/replace the engine under two completely different government .

I think compare to ATR-72 specs its a better choice

Yes but going from prop to jet will require some
infrastructures modifications meaning more $$$.

Every bit of speed gained in aviation is paid hard.

Have a good day, Tay.

Dear Tay

IranAir - ATR: deal 8 of 20 ATRs delivered to IranAir ( I think ATR promised full delivery till end of 2018 )

IranAir's ceo is already satisfied with their new ATRs and she said they have plan to get another 20 ATR after full delivery of current deal .

IranAir - Boeing : 0 of 80 delivered to IranAir  more than 12 months after deal ( 10 year deal )

IranAir - Airbus : 3 of 100 delivered to IranAir  more than 12 months after deal ( 10 year deal )

As you can see both Airbus and Boeing at this moment are behind the schedule . I think Airbus is a big shareholder in ATR Company so their decisions coming from one group ( personal opinion ) .

It will raise a question in my mind why its okay for IranAir to get ATR but our american and european friends are worried and more careful for delivering narrow-bodies and wide-body airplanes to IranAir ?

and more careful for delivering narrow-bodies and wide-body airplanes to IranAir ?

It might be back log / back order on the lines.
I'll check it when time allows and come back
to you here.

Good day until then, Tay.

No US License Needed to Buy Sukhoi Superjet-100: Iranian Official
1396112314191489713322704.jpg

Secretary of Association of Iranian Airlines Maqsoud Asadi Samani said Sukhoi has made the latest modifications to Superjet-100, and has overcome the limitations to sales to Iran, as less than 10 percent of the aircraft's components are American-made.

The official also described Super-100 as a suitable option for Iran, considering that many of the country’s airports remain unused due to lack of regional planes with fewer than 100 seats.

The Russian plane’s price varies from 20 to 25 million dollars, depending on its options, he noted.

The PowerJet SaM146 is a turbofan engine produced by the PowerJet joint venture between Snecma of France and NPO Saturn of Russia. Developing 68–80 kN of thrust, the SaM146 is used on the Sukhoi Superjet 100.

The jet MC-21

1169870.jpg

The MC-21 short-and medium-haul narrow-body aircraft ("Mainline aircraft of the 21st century") conducted its maiden flight on May 28. Lasting only 30 minutes, the flight from the Irkutsk Aviation Plant airfield in Siberia took the airliner to an altitude of 1,000 meters and a speed of 300 km/hour.

Plans are in store to produce two of the plane’s versions: the MC-21-200, which will carry 132 to 165 passengers, and the MC-21-300, which will carry 163 to 211 passengers.

The first client is Russia’s Aeroflot, which plans to have 50 MC-21s in its fleet. There are foreign customers as well. Crecom Burj Berhad (Malaysia) has ordered 25 MC-21s with 25 options from Irkut. Cairo Aviation (Egypt) has agreed to acquire six MC-21s with options for a further four of the type. Among potential foreign customers are Air Tanzania (Tanzania), as well as Iran, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.

According to Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov, Russia may deliver 1,000 MC-21s until 2037.
