The Argentine Ministry of Defence affirmed that a memorandum was signed for the acquisition of 12 Airbus H125 Ecureuil helicopters to succeed the army's and air force's Eurocopter (Aerospatiale) SA 315B Lama fleets, which have been in use for more than 35 years.

The H125 single-engine light utility helicopter can be used for a variety of missions: firefighting, medical assistance, public services, domestic security, and search and rescue. It can carry up to seven passengers, travel approximately 341 n miles on its own fuel, can operate at up to 11,100 ft (hovering ceiling), and cruise at up to 138 kt.
