Air Marshal Nur Khan - The Legend

February 22, 2012 - Pakistan Television (PTV) tribute to Air Marshal Malik Nur Khan. Under Nur Khan's command Pakistan Air Force (PAF) became a strong and tough air force. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) showed rapid progress and became a respected world airline when it was led by Nur Khan. And, in the world of sports, under the guidance of Nur Khan, Pakistani sportsmen achieved success and glory for the country in field hockey, squash and cricket.

Must watch documentary. My eyes were filled with tears at the end of the program. What a gem ALLAH had blessed us with.

The documentary looks back at his wonderful life, from where he started, participated in WW2 and then how he continued the legacy of Air Marshal Asghar Khan when became the Commander of the Pakistan Air Force. Of course, the 1965 war, how he courageously lead from the front. Participated himself in the first combat mission of the war. He's the one who made the PAF a nightmare for the Indian Air Forces.

After Air Force, he was given the charge of PIA, and he made it one of the best in the world from the worst.

Then as the chairman of PCB, Hockey Federation, Squash. Everywhere, wherever he went to work, miracles became real

Yes, one more thing, not mentioned in the Documentary but, He was part of the Pakistani contingent that clashed with the Israeli Air Force during the Six Day War.

The President of Israel, Ezer Weizman, who was also the Commander of the Israeli Air Force and the Minister of Defence of Israel, wrote in his autobiography that:

"He was a formidable fellow and I was glad that he was Pakistani and not Egyptian".

May ALLAH have mercy on his soul and bless this Nation with more Heroes like AM Nur Khan sahab.
