What's new

Agni-IV strategic missile successfully test-fired from Wheeler Island, off Odisha Coast.

Size is sure a deciding factor to the Kill capability of an IRV yet a miniaturized munition paves way for a higher degree of Damage. India uses Ballistic Glide Reentry Vehicle in the class of 17Kt FBF, 50Kt FBF and 150Kt FBF aswell apart from the vintage 200 KT Entry vehicles which was used for its near obsolete Agni 1 in the 1980's .

Indian BGRV easily accommodates Ballast, Heat shields, exojets and actuators without compromising on the warheads firepower capability.

We do have the technology of an MIRV. How else was the PSLV able to launch 10 independent satellites into different orbital altitudes with pin point precision?
Believe me "Ballistic glide" is impossible at Mach 20 and so is any course corrections

But still they can be fired at Pakistan

its almost use less to explain to them but i'll waste my here... there are two components. X and Y component of a trajectory. The apogee is based on the range. The X max component is fixed at say 5000KM, that wont happen at the max apogee. any lesser or greater apogee will only work to reduce range, albeit a higher Apogee will mean a greater terminal velocity but that is a wastage of fuel. a lower apogee will not give it a good Terminal Velocity. and thats why we have different categories of Missile other wise one ICMB for all would have been the moto.. :P

We can use these for Pakistan. Missiles are too advanced for them :P

You are wrong again. The RV although reenters the Earth's atmosphere at velocities of up to Mach 20 as you rightly said, but the atmospheric friction decelerates the RV up-to 2/3rd of its speed because of which it experiences high amount of heat and to the contrary of what you said, the glider principle produces less heat than ballistic hyperbolic descent designs because their velocity is typically lower. Thus, a full evaluation of thermal impacts during reentry is dependent on both vehicle- and mission-specific criteria.

It is not made to Kiss with Romance but Kiss Good Bye. By the way I appreciate your scientific knowledge in judging its capability by just the looks of it.
Haven't you seen "The Dictator" ? Very rational train of thought is being presented by the member in question, very much like Admiral General Aladin.

Haha Nailed it Bro .. :guns:

Logic is simple. Size does matter. More size means more fissile material and more bang.
Agni 4 due to it's very high apogee, will enter atmosphere at very high speed, well in the realms of Mach 20.
Such high speed means too much air friction and resultant heat, for whichneeded heavy heat shields will be needed to protect warhead and electronics. Leaving even lesser space for warhead, meaning lower yields.
For example American 300 kt. W-87 was 57 cm wide and 170 cm long. And that was just warhead. Heat shield and other systems also need space.
So the point being made here in addition to all the above, India does not have any MIRV capable missiles, not even A-5. Also none of Indian missiles can carry city killers of half megaton or megaton range yield.
Dont worry. For Pakistan we have Saurya missile which is a hypersonic ballastic missile which has flat trajectory & does not leave atmosphere. Difficult to detect & has pre programmed flight path to evade SAMs. Indian nuclear weapons will surely hit Pakistan with this missile.

Sir.Are you trying to be an expert or something which you are not and will not be!!!

This was officially acknowledged.. we don't know what are you trying to say.. so what if the apogee is 900Km??

this means that it can kill a satellte and application AV is possible.

Ugly shape of Missile.....Looks less advanced...

Hummmmm, very less advance as missile in its first test travel in 100 m band from predetermines path and hit the target with 2 digit accuracy. Humm Very less advance as it dies not have CEP in Kilometers but meter.
