Of course rape happens everywhere but in nations where women have almost no say and going to the police results in nothing but more pain and humiliation and the risk of them being cutoff by the family is a serious issue. The rape statistics for the whole of Asia must be the most severely unreported crimes in the world, according to some statistics there is more rape in places like Sweden (where alot of criminals happen to be muslims again) than India.

As our Economic development increases these type of problems will vanish & they are already going away becuz of mass awareness campaigns launched by our civil society

Yes. IN Japan, the man is supposed to offer help to woman, and the woman is supposed to be treated as a diadem. So when they arrive in India, they probably expect the same. Not only that, in Japan, there is positive and high level of respect for Indian people and Indian culture. So they come to India with that in mind.

Being an Indian I would request Japanese authority to issue a advisory for women to be extra cautious while visiting India.....
