Afzal Guru's cellmate - Interview, simply awesome

There were many films on the Naxalite movement...they all gave slightly sympathetic potrayal of them..The last one was Chakravyuh..after the Modi government, those sort of films have not been released...Chakravyuh released I think in 2012

.
On the point..The man was a Communist guerilla ...The state had legitimate grievances against him..and he was put behind bars during Congress regime and not BJP
1. He is an ideologue not gorilla. That is why government could not prove his involvement in violence.
2. Cobad Ghandy and many others have started questioning revolutionary violence to solve present day problem of capitalism.
3. Read his six part essay, this will give some insight:
Questions of Freedom and People’s Emancipation

.
They are terrorists as simple as that, worse than cockroaches

1. You should speak for the Naxalites to have dialgoue with the Supreme Court. In South Africa the long-running ANC insurgency of Mandela had dialogue with the Whites. In Columbia the government had dialogue with the FARC left-wing guerrillas.

2. What is your opinion about Indian Hindu right-wing terrorist groups like Abhinav Bharat and Sanatan Sanstha who carried out bombings and assassinations ?

.
however, was it a political stunt for 2014 election?
Did congress mention him in any of the election campaign.

I don't remember Congress mentioning him. The Congress, in the last few years, tries to make those statements that appear to outdo the BJP in hyper-nationalism. Rahul Gandhi may be well-meaning ( his recent statement of "Hum do humaare do" to mean Modi, Shah and their financial backers Ambani and Adani ) but he should start talking to enlightened youth like Kanhaiya, Shehla Rashid and Umar Khalid.

yes this is controlled opposition to infiltrate Pakistani mindspace

Can you explain ?

.
If only the Indian establishment had deployed these personnel against the right-wing extremists who are the real danger to India...
If anyone starts to use guns to bring home their point, then that needs to be stopped - be it right wing or left wing.
Overtime, govt should solve the root cause of left wing extremism. It should try to understand the reason why some people are dissatisfied and address that. But that does not mean that govt can tolerate people using violence to be heard.

Agreed.

Agreed, but I don't see the government working towards removing Hindutvadi right-winger violence and vigilantism. This softly-softly approach is absent when acting against the leftists ( both public and underground ).

Right wingers do lots of propaganda and less violence. Also, they dont want to overthrow the govt system but instead become the govt.
Govt is threatened more by people who want to overthrow the system.

Less ?

Delhi riots for one example.

And bringing anti-human laws as another example.

And harassing progressive intellectuals through misuse of obsolete or ill-intentioned laws as yet another example. Take the highlight of this very thread - Mr. Kobad Ghandy.

Also, they dont want to overthrow the govt system but instead become the govt.

They are the government. :)

When govt or its allies aid the violence, then it is difficult to act on (eg. Delhi riots)

Otherwise, right wing violence has resulted in deaths numbering few hundred at the most. Maoists have killed many more.
Right wingers live in the mainstream society so it is difficult to weed them out. Maoists are an easier target as they are living separately in jungles.

I agree with your post except :
Maoists have killed many more.
Whether it be Hindu right-wingers or Muslim right-wingers they have killed far more than the Naxals.

Though I agree that the Naxals have targeted structures like schools but they took care not to harm the students and staff. They did so to prevent the structures from being used in election. I am not being pro-Naxal here, hence my earlier statement that the Supreme Court should have dialogue with the Naxals.

Not sure how you are counting. After the partition violence, there have been incidents here and there over the decades. It is difficult to plan against such random incidents.

Why are Naxals against election or education?
Govt does not like to have dialogue under the fear of gun. It wants Naxals to give up arms first. It is forced to talk at times when it does not see an alternative (eg. North east insurgent groups)

According to this Wikipedia page there have been 1597 casualties on the government side and Naxal side between 2009 to 2013.

According to this article :
A total of 460 Left Wing Extremists, also called Naxals, have been killed by security forces in the country since 2018, an RTI response has revealed.

During the same period, 161 security force personnel laid down their lives in the line of duty, the Left Wing Extremism (LWE) Division, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, stated in the reply.

Firstly, in the second article I quoted above it speaks of an entire government department called Left Wing Extremism Division. There's nothing such for right-wing extremism, unless we are counting actions from departments assigned to check Muslim right-wing extremism. So we will be inclined to believe that the establishment does not want to engage with the Naxals hence the deployment of almost 386,200 government armed ground personnel supported by armed helicopters and drones against a few thousand Naxals.

Secondly, about elections, we have to think from scratch whether the complicated political arrangement we have in India, Pakistan, China, USA etc with their party-based systems and five-yearly-elections is really democracy. Please read this post of mine on how generally pre-2011 Libya's political, direct democracy system was organized.

ANC had numbers of his side. Whites were a minority in SA. In India, Naxalites are a dying movement as much as one likes to think otherwise, most insurgent movements in India are in a dying phase.

Abhinav Bharat or Sanatan Sanstha are domestic terrorists, you only need to cut their heads and it falls like a deck of cards. While groups like Naxals and Maoists have foreign-funded especially China. It's interesting most of Naxal and Maoist affected areas are Rare Earth Mineral mining sites. 🙃

Hmm. Interesting indeed. So those tribals should be taken into confidence and allowed to develop. To be a part of the Rare Earth mining setup. The interlocutors between them and the Supreme Court can be the Naxal intellectuals.

These RW groups are from a hydra body. We can take for example Pinky Chaudhry. He being connected to the recent attack on the boy who went inside a temple to drink water. Pinky was part of Bajrang Dal but got out and formed his own group called Hindu Raksha Dal.

RSS has five to six million formal members according to Wikipedia. But the members are fluid. They can join other smaller groups or form their own groups. If one group is disbanded and their heads arrested the rest can re-form into new groups.

You can look at the map of Maoist-Naxal affected regions over the years. No talks have made any results but hard-hitting did. Greyhounds are required in all these states if they want to weed out the infestation.

These types are not a threat to National security. And these fringes have no mainstream presence, their aim and ideology is weak because of lack of support and funding. They don't fight guerilla warfare against the police. The last time I heard about some RW fundamentalists was during valentines day when some couples were force married. Or some cow-related violence, or a communal issue. I don't think they are capable of blowing up a market or city. Once law takes it course, these vigilante groups will die down.
