Pakistan is hoping to strengthen its cooperation with China, in terms of trade particularly, said advisor to the PM on Commerce, Abdul Razak Dawood.

In an interview with the China Economic Net, Sheikh highlighted how the Chinese government is providing export opportunities to Pakistan, that extend beyond leather, agriculture, and textile.
In the latest progress, Pakistan will now export chemical and engineering goods to China.

“We see it as the perfect opportunity to enhance collaboration with Chinese companies,” he told the mentioned media source.

“The second phase of the Pakistan-China Free Trade Agreement (FTA) will become operational from the first of December.”

Advisor further added that he is very hopeful about the swift implementation of the agreement.

Under this agreement, Pakistan will export goods worth $2 billion to China every year. During the fiscal year 2018-2019, Pakistan’s exports to China have increased to $106 million, according to the SBP report.

Reqo Diq:
Reports say that some Chinese companies have started to show their interest in gold and copper mining in areas like Reko Diq.

“This is a new area on which Pakistan will concentrate. We have a massive opportunity. Our trade with China is very low and we certainly will be concentrating on this area,” Dawood added.

“We are not very good at international marketing and this stems from the fact that in the domestic market, demand has always been greater than supply hence the emphasis on marketing remains low,” he pointed out.

Dawood further said that President Xi is a great leader and visionary man.

“He has come forward to tell the world that China wants to import from the world. It is very enlightening for all of us and we feel that it is a very good initiative,” Dawood.

Good incentives, but we have to copy the Chinese model.
Force these companies to partner with a local company and steal any and all IP that we can.

Also make it illegal for China to bring in their labor, ALL labor, including engineers and managers need to be Pakistani.

Only executives of the company can be Chinese.

China used this model to become successful, we should do the same.

if chinese labour and managment can make a project in 2 years our will take 10 years unless there is special kind of danda behind

. .
Look at kirtarpur, we did an amazing job in 10 months.
We have everything we need, just need the right people and system.

That is why I wrote "Special Kind of danda", chinese have this problem with our labour since they have started projects in Pakistan. Our own buisnessmen are saying our labour is expensive when we compare productivity. They(Pakistani labour) will come late, start with tea break in the morning, thn lunch, thn prayer, thn again tea, thn prayer, thn will go home early, while chinese/koreans/japenes work like hell.

If the completion time of the projects are considerably prolonged, the cost will go up big time as well. unless you would like to cover the extra cost, investors won't be too happy.

Actually Afghan transit trade and smuggling from China has broken the back of today's Pakistani industry. Welcome to reality.

Brother you clearly don't know much about Japanese productivity. Japan has one of the lowest productivity levels of any workforce in the entire world. This stems from the fact that they work on average 64 hours a week. Which lowers their productivity. Working more hours doesn't mean you're more productive, it means the work is so much you have to work longer.
